Agree for the most part. I dont disagree. Hes not going to drop it because of the base
right, it's all about his reelection.
He played down this crisis because the numbers didn't play well for his reelection.
He takes self serving to a whole new level.
What's concerning is that his antics have become so normalized that smart people such as yourself are defending him.
I don't know how you're not raging to be honest.

100%.
Also hear things like ‘well it’s better than the alternative’ just because they disagree with their opponents ideologies or personality. Problem is you vote for a halfwit like trump it’s all fun and games until his actions start costing lives when something serious comes along.
Anyone sticking up for him at this point, lacks the integrity to analyse the context and admit they were wrong. They need to be volleyed into the Atlantic.
I mean, we’re no better this side judging by the absolute state of our PM and team.

Tell you what, you've got to give Trump credit...

He's done an INCREDIBLE job of lowering the bar over which he has to jump to get praise.

The public (none more-so than his own supporters) and the press's expectations of him are just astoundingly low.

You’d imagine the next semi normal republican president will be lauded by both the left and right due to Trump’s legacy.
Be interesting to read accounts of this time in 20 years. History is not going to be kind.

Yea, it's crazy that someone defending him can use a case of his interaction with a journalist.
In 2016 when he mocked that NYT journalists disability on the campaign trail, I honestly thought that was that, but no, we made him president. :(

I honestly like the fact hes putting on the press conferences, allowing Pence, Fauci, and the other people to give updates, answer questions. I don't watch them as I do not have time but enjoy reading the "bullet points" after they are done. Some days are busier than others but thats just the flow of the ocean. Not much more to say about it.

Nobody has denied Fauci has been superb. A lot of his job has been outright correcting Trump's ramblings and cleaning up his mess, generally. But I can't see how a President who has used his communication platform to accuse healthcare staff of crimes, ramble on about his ratings, tell outright lies about the disease and its treatment, attack the press for softball questions and generally fall into pots and pans in front of the world can be deemed to be keeping the public "well informed" with his daily press briefings. If our Taoiseach did that, he'd be sectioned and never get in front of a screen again

But.. Prev... He's #1 on Facebook.

He had a bit of comedy value in times gone by. Hilary Clinton wasn't exactly an appealing alternative.
Well I disagree with the first part... he was only ever funny if you really weren't paying attention.

As for the second part...

I mean, she was probably the most qualified person to have EVER run for the Presidency... Form a personality and policy standpoint she wouldn't have been my first choice, but let's have it right, compared to Trump she might as well have been Obama, Kennedy, FDR and George Washington all rolled into one.
