And how would you say he would have prevented unemployment?10 million unemployed in 2 weeks. So much winning.
Still, his ratings are great

Sure thing. He should but thats not how he would have prevented unemploymentdunno but if he’s going to take the plaudits for everything good that happens then he’s got to own the loses as well.
"I don't take responsibility for anything"dunno but if he’s going to take the plaudits for everything good that happens then he’s got to own all the loses as well.
Presidents don't actually have much influence over the economy while they're in office, but by taking credit for the good things they get the blame for the bad things.Sure thing. He should but thats not how he would have prevented unemployment

Yes understand that. All im asking is how would he have prevented the unemployment rate? It was inevitable. Similar to 2007-09:Presidents don't actually have much influence over the economy while they're in office, but by taking credit for the good things they get the blame for the bad things.
Thats honestly fantastic news. Many businesses here in Louisiana have remained open as in groceries, fast food etc. Many are offering 11.25$ (Which is a decent bit for those types of jobs in LA) an hour for full time jobs 40 hours a week for temporary 3-4 months until all this happens. More businesses should but many were on the brink anyway and unfortunately have to close the doors and release employees to stay afloat. The "large companies" really need to step up hereNot gonna pretend I have a clue about the nuances of Merican life, (other than Trump is an utter moron). But in the UK today, BA and the trade union have agreed a plan stop 000's of job losses, as have Nissan, both with support that the Government unveiled last week.
Any business in need of direct financial support can get it, again, with Government intervention in the banking sector.
It aint perfect, and its pretty crap here, but whether you agree or not with the way the UK have dealt with this, they have at least tried to stand alongside folk. Not just those who support them.

Presumably the best possible rollout of coronavirus prevention efforts wouldn't have prevented the unemployment surge, given the stay-at-home form that prevention efforts take, but again, it doesn't matter. Trump's wrapped himself in a false narrative of economic success (false not because the economy hasn't done well by traditional-if-somewhat-blinkered metrics, but because he's presented it as if it somehow deviated from rather than continued the longterm economic growth we've had since Obama saved the national bacon from the 2008 meltdown). Let Trump therefore go down in the flames of a false narrative that a historically unprecedented unemployment surge is all his fault.Yes understand that. All im asking is how would he have prevented the unemployment rate? It was inevitable. Similar to 2007-09:
"During the 2007–09 recession,3 the unemployment rate more than doubled. (See figure 1.) The rate increased by 5.3 percentage points since November 2007, peaking at 10.0 percent in October 2009, when more than 15 million people were unemployed. This peak marked the highest unemployment rate since the aftermath of the 1981–82 recession, when the rate exceeded 10 percent for 10 consecutive months, from September 1982 to June 1983."
One thing he has done, very minor but beneficial in a crucial time was increase unemployment benefit to 600$ for 4 months compared to 200$. Well Senate, House, and his office got it done. We could learn a bit or two from our former owners pre 1776Well the US Government need to step up mate. Maybe they have, dunno.
But to this observer, Trump seems more interested in helping folk who like him.
Even if the Prime Minister looks like a messy haired trumpVery true. The numbers will go back up in due time just like it has since the 70s. Its a hit but in the long run a minor one. Once the checks come for people, the DOW will go soaring. But efforts still need to be made and responsibility should happenPresumably the best possible rollout of coronavirus prevention efforts wouldn't have prevented the unemployment surge, given the stay-at-home form that prevention efforts take, but again, it doesn't matter. The UK approach of paying 80% of wages looks like a decent attempt to get employers to retain their workers. And how would you say he would have prevented unemployment?
Is that for all businesses? Or just large ones? The UK approach of paying 80% of wages looks like a decent attempt to get employers to retain their workers.
