His press briefing today was ridiculous. Spent probably ten minutes droning on about reopening the country for business on Easter Sunday as if it were a grand opening for one of his hotels. How stupid to set a date weeks in advance. You allow businesses to reopen the moment it’s reasonably safe to do so, not some predetermined symbolic date based on a religious holiday.

I've got a mate who's Brazilian, his dad lives in Rio. He spoke to him yesterday and says they are in lockdown, Nobody's allowed to beaches, bars etc. but it's not being policed, so the cartels have taken it upon themselves to police it. That message is really quite threatening if you can read Portuguese.

Which is ironic, in that Trump is a RINO supreme.

Exactly... The structure of Trump’s sentence was like “he might be all these bad things, but he is this good thing (a RINO)”

Which begs the question, was it just a badly/weirdly phrased tweet, or does Trump not know what a RINO is?

They went from sniping from the sidelines to being in possession of political power. So, like when any Republican gains power, "deficits don't matter".

I think Trump's aware of what he's saying and that the "but" is an ironic sub for "and," since he's trolling for laughs from the haw-haw lords of his base.

I wonder if he's also aware of the further irony that, since he now owns the GOP without adhering to many of its longtime movement-conservative values, he's made "Republican" a merely nominal term, by which RINO becomes a newly value-neutral term instead of a value-specific accusation.
