The Democrats are going to need all the help and luck they can get. Sure Trump might get impeached, but that's about it. He certainly ain't going to be convicted of anything.

The president himself has admitted that he and others of his administration asked Ukraine to investigate the Biden’s on mutilple occasions. Heck he even asked both Ukraine and China to investigate Biden at a press conference!

if Trump honestly thinks that Biden did something wrong why not ask his own DOJ to do an investigation - there is the Corrupt Foreign Practices Act that many businesses and even some politicians have been convinced under. Why farm it out to a country that he claims is corrupt unless it is that very corruption that he is hoping will mean they charge Biden?

If it was such a clear case of corruption why the hell didn’t Republicans at the time do a Senate investigation - gawd knows they were doing multiple other investigations into the Obama administration on flimsy pretexts.. Or Trump do it in the first two years of his administration- why only wait until he was directly challenging Trump’s politcal future by running for the democratic nomination? I don’t want any President to be asking foreigners to investigate their political rivals, that is an extremely dangerous precedent to set.

And that is even before you get to his own ambassador‘s testimony that both a White House meeting and financial aid were being held up to procure that investigation or at least the announcement of one.

TBF the worst, most unspeakably stupid thing he did was to try and get the investigation of Biden in the first place.

Simply saying "Hunter Biden got a job paying hundreds of thousands of dollars as a board member of a Ukrainian gas company" was enough.

Tbf their real goal doesn’t seem to be an actual investigation or even a conviction as such, they just wanted an announcement of one by the Ukraine government so there was a little more negative spin they could put on those ads. Kids trading their name for lots of foreign money is kinda a large glasshouse for the Trump’s to be throwing stones from after all.

Although I wouldn’t be surprised if Rudy has genuinely managed to convince Trump that Biden had really pressured for the prosecutor firing to help his son - Trump does tend to project his own behavior onto everyone else..

The talks appear to be in early stages, but the lawyer familiar with the investigation and ex-prosecutors say that pressure mounted on Parnas to cut a deal after prosecutors revealed on Monday that he and his business associate Igor Fruman, who was also indicted for making illegal campaign donations, are “likely” to face additional charges.

If Parnas strikes a deal it could put further legal pressure on Giuliani, who is facing a growing number of legal woesincluding some relating to his international consulting business as part of an investigation of alleged crimes including money laundering, wire fraud, campaign finance violations, making false statements, obstruction of justice, and violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act.
