This is why many evangelicals support Trump. He packed SCOTUS. States are passing these laws so that they will be challenged in court and eventually SCOTUS is forced to revisit Roe v Wade which the current court could very likely overturn.

Not even trying anymore. Someone suggests on twitter that a new law has passed that is unfair to women and TX_Bill translates this as some sort of affront to--well, it's not even clear what it is an affront to, or why his retort is even necessary or relevant. He's just in short-circuit mode and regurgitating stuff that seemed clever (but wasn't) in 2016.

I must admit I am somewhat horrified at the goings on in Alabama, and distraught that the President has allowed such legislation to come into place. Not sure if he alone could have vetoed it? But in any case, an absolute disgraceful law that no longer allows females to make their own decisions about what to do with their bodies. Shameful.

Could he have vetoed this specific law? No.

But he could have not nominated lunatic anti-choice judges to the Supreme Court. It’s those nominations which have triggered the likes of Alabama and Georgia to pass these pieces of legislation in an effort to get Roe vs Wade overturned by the SC.

Oh, and he could have not said this...

So I’d say it’s pretty clear that he wouldn’t have lifted a finger to veto it even if he had the option.

I guess these women or girls could simply go to another state for an abortion, but there should be no need for that and it's utterly shameful for a law such as that to have been passed. I will never understand those who are anti-choice. Donald has let me down here and it's a big thumbs down from me on this count.

It’s not at all difficult to understand. It’s actually exceptionally simple.

They think women are second class citizens who shouldn’t have autonomy over their own bodies, and will look for any opportunity and route to control them.

It makes me sad. I almost feel fleeced after supporting Donald on many occasions and defending him against some what I deemed to be unjust allegations. But on this count there can be no defending that happening on his watch. I will be keeping a keen eye on his conduct from here on in.

I think the law still punishes people who get abortions out of state. So basically they have to permanently move.
