Can you IMAGINE if over the last 2yrs there had been no reporting on the Mueller investigation and no indictments etc, and then last Thursday this report had been released, and god knows how many indictments had all dropped, Trump’s Nat Sec Advisor, Lawyer,Campaign Chairman and Campaign vice chairman had all been found guilty?

The sky would have fallen in on his presidency.

Make absolutely no mistake, we are living through the biggest political scandal in US history, yet somehow it’s become normalised.

A president who takes seriously his oath would be in shock to realize the astonishing level of penetration of his inner circle by agents of Russia.

As a team of writers at Lawfare put it, Trump’s people “were aware the Russians sought to help them win. They welcomed that assistance. Instead of warning the American public, they instead devised a public relations and campaign strategy that sought to capitalize on Russia’s illicit assistance. In other words, the Russians and the Trump campaign shared a common goal, and each side worked to achieve that goal with basic knowledge of the other side’s intention. They just didn’t agree to work toward that goal together.”

As a candidate and as a citizen, Donald Trump had a responsibility to put a stop to this unethical and dangerous behavior in his organization. He had an obligation to report it to the FBI, and to work with the government to thwart the Russian efforts. Instead, he knowingly allowed his campaign and some of the people closest to him to continue their contacts with the Russians, and then he spent months lying, encouraging others to cover for him, and gaslighting an entire nation with talks of witch hunts and hoaxes.

What rules of engagement there are between the Democrat candidates I think is a very valid discussion to have mate but lots of current things to discuss about Trump so any chance you can post your thoughts on the Dem primary in that thread instead?

Because Mitch [Poor language removed] McConnell has decided to completely abdicate the Senate's responsibility to be a check on the executive branch. I despise Trump and will raise a glass the day he is out of office but I will have a party the day McConnell dies. He's done more up hurt the nation than Trump can fathom.

For two years the Democrats have been on a fishing expedition to bring down a lawfully elected president. They got skunked and reeled in no evidence to support their accusation that Trump colluded with Russia to defeat Hillary.

Their boat enjoyed a high tide of hope and momentum for two years, but after the Mueller Report was released, that tide went out. All the way out. Now they’re stuck in the mud and they all look ridiculous.

Do they abandon their boat and trudge back to the shore of apology? No. Most of them are tripling down on their lunacy. They’re now threatening impeachment based on ‘obstruction,’ even though there’s no proof of that, either. Maybe Trump gritting his teeth at their witch-hunt qualifies as obstruction.

Mueller knew the case was based on a phony dossier paid for by Hillary Clinton, yet he allowed the case to drag on at taxpayer expense for two years. His report is filled with accusations, but then he also says there is no proof.

He said his report does not ‘exonerate’ Trump, but there’s a pesky legal issue associated with that claim. Trump is innocent until proven guilty, and Mueller couldn’t even come close. The report is nothing but damage control to save his friend Hillary and his buddies in the corrupt security agencies.

The tide is rushing back in, but this time it’s a tidal wave in Trump’s favor. What the Deep State operatives did to him is nothing short of treason and they must be held accountable.
