Every bit of the 2020 campaign is turnout. Dems do not turn out for policy wonk/technocrats only. There must be a charisma... an intangible "it" to counter the reality TV host with the unshakable, but static, audience. You are clearly not American.
The midterm elections were won on policy. The vast majority of candidates didn't even acknowledge the president.
Republicans ran on pro-Trump campaigns and got their behinds handed to them.
All of this idealism is well and good.Every bit of the 2020 campaign is turnout. Dems do not turn out for policy wonk/technocrats only. There must be a charisma... an intangible "it" to counter the reality TV host with the unshakable, but static, audience.
I've said it before but my advice is to virtually ignore the POTUS. Inspire the 60% of the voters in the country that either cannot stand him or are indifferent to him to show up at the polls and vote FOR the Dem candidate. We cannot have a repeat of a campaign that focuses on the flaws of the POTUS.
Not suggesting or endorsing here but the campaign of O'Rourke in Texas was instructive (or should be). Ted Cruz is more popular in Texas than Donald Trump. Beto O'Rourke was known by exactly nobody in this state when he announced his candidacy. Absent serious policy proposals but possessing a work ethic unseen in retail politics in this state for decades and an undeniable charm he turned a +12% at minimum red state to an election loss by less than 3%.
It has scared the bejeezus out of Texas Republicans and I have a hard time believing such a candidate as the one I describe would not flip Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Iowa and quite possibly Ohio, Florida and Arizona.
There’s a reason Trump has taken a bunch of shots at O’Rourke. He’s not really my ideal choice, but he’d have a very good chance to carry Texas, which likely no other Dem candidate would.Every bit of the 2020 campaign is turnout. Probably due to the millions and millions of dollars they threw at the enquiry. What a gang of losers! Why are the Democrats almost suicidal over hearing the president hasn't worked with the Russians to interfere in elections. Surely they should be partying with the good news. Why would they want this to be a thing that happened? Hmmmm.

Fixed that for youWhy are the Republicans blocking the release of a report that apparently fully exonerates the president of working with the Russians to interfere in elections and obstruct justice. Surely they should be publishing the good news. Why would they want to hide it if this is what it says? Hmmmm
Fixed that for you
Yep but McConnel isn’t even putting a non binding resolution with no time frame to the floor.Didn't the House vote 402-0 or something to release the report?
