I don’t, much as I dislike him and his politicies I’d genuinely prefer it if it is found that he had no involvement or knowledge of Russian meddling in the election as the president being beholden to Putin is not healthy for the nation.

However I can’t think any other logical reason for all the campaign meetings with Russians - it is rare for campaign staff to meet any foreign government reps let alone a hostile one that they they know is hacking their competitor. How many meetings with UK, German or Mexican reps did the campaign have - countries that are our allies and trading partners? Why over 100 with Russians?

i also can’t think why, if the meetings were above board, why all the lying about them and changing stories about the purpose and content. Or the frankly supine stance that Trump takes with Putin, claiming to believe him that they were not responsible for the hacking over his entire intelligence department and his continued slow-walking of any sanctions for the election interference.

The meetings may primarily be related to business related interests, particularly in the event he wasn't going to win. Which by all accounts, even his own was what was going to happen.

Mueller, a proven and successful investigator obviously saw no collusion etc relation to the presidency/campaign.

Without having and reading the report much of the answers many are looking for can't be specifically answered yet. But the conclusion can be drawn by Mueller indicating no further indictments.

Glad I have your attention: Have you addressed anything in LL's post about the 34 indictments in Trump's inner circle and why it is Russia (not Canada, Mexico, Australia, etc.) that matters in this investigation? Have you figured out that ALL of the indictments involve Russia in some shape or form? Have you determined that "I'm sure if Mueller spent two solid years investigating other campaigns they'd be similar charges" is an idiotic goal-post/deflective statement? Once you finish your dinner, let me know your thoughts about these questions.

It's Russia because those associating with Trump had interests/business there.

Doesn't mean Trump colluded.

The ones by Cohen were yes, to get a Trump hotel built in Moscow, but as far as we know not the others.

Most especially the Trump tower meeting by Trump’s own son and son-in-law that after, multiple denials it even happened and then various excuses including “we were talking adoptions” Jnr admitted that he met with people he knew were representing the Russian government to get dirt on Clinton.

Did he think this information he was hoping to receive was obtained legally? Did he even care? If Don Jnr had received “dirt” on Clinton as he hoped and knew that it was from Russian government hacking what do you think he would have done with it - gone to the FBI????

If it was all business meetings, and not something to do with hacking, why not business meetings with other nations? Surely Trump’s entire post election business strategy was not going to be focused on Russia alone. And I repeat, if they were all above board why the lying, even after the election was won?

It may well be found out that the Trump campaign made some tries at collusion but didn’t manage to successfully do it - whilst that might not be something you can jail someone for (collusion itself is not a crime) it would hardly be grounds for rejoicing.

I agree some legitimate concerns/questions exist regarding the meetings and recollections of those present.

I'm not entirely sold the Trump Tower meeting with some Russians was to get dirt on Hillary either. I understand the question may have been put during the meeting saying we have some dirt would you like it ?

Of course they would like it, doesn't mean they got it, wanted it or made further arrangements for it.

As for business meetings in other nations. Well I can only presume business related dealings are handled differently in Russia to other countries
I mean it's hardly the utopia Putin would have you believe.

Ultimately however, the Russians were playing both sides during the election and haven't had too since. The USA, politically is as divided as it has been for a while.

At the end of the day, for what ?

Why would Trump and all of his people continuously lie about Russian dealings until it was proven that in fact there were dealings going on to get a hotel built in Moscow? Why lie?

This is the question that I've never seen a Trumpist manage to answer convincingly. if there's no "there there", then why were SO many people in the campaign utterly incapable of telling the truth when it came to Russia?
