Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

He’s done some good things this week tbh, federally legalising hemp and CBD, bannning bump stocks, pulling troops out of Syria and Afghanistan (albeit for most likely dubious reasons). I can’t stand the guy but he deserves the odd bit of praise when he does something positive.

The criminal justice reform is big as well, although it’s a shame it’s not retroactive.
The thing is that even when he does something that I philosophically agree with it is often done in the most cack handed way, or as you mentioned for the wrong reasons, which complicates the situation considerably..

For instance the timing on the Syria pullout seems largely to be because Erdogan asked him to and without any consultation of aides/allies which is concerning plus the impetuous way it is being done leaves a lot of refugees and Kurds very vulnerable.

Without being totally pedantic (uh oh too late!), it is likely that the spikes would be slightly different due to the manufacturing process where they wouldn't be interested in making exact clones of each post. The rough casting and the crude method of sharpening (If required) would see to that.

God I feel like a right Richard for even writing this... (n)
Eh?

Look at the image.

The magnified spikes are a completely different design to how they are when unmagnified.

Pulling out of Syria and Afghanistan, is not good for the world. The fact that he didn't consult anyone that mattered on this is criminal.

Banning bump stocks deserves a 'thanks for virtually nothing' on the gun conversation. Praising a toddler for crawling is not praiseworthy.

He signed a bunch of crap today to try to pull the optics off of the fact that he had chosen to shutdown the government to make his far right media happy.

The far right have chosen to remove compromise from their vocabulary.

Everything is for reality TV optics. We don't live on reality TV...and certainly shouldn't be governing that way.
We've had troops in the middle east for almost two decades now. Its only got worse. not buying the neocon argument there.

An important message at this time on both sides of the Atlantic. We need to return to a time where we view with pride rather than fear the fact that people want to come to our land to live and work, to share their energies and knowledge, and to enrich our society with their perspectives and culture.

On a related note, this is a talk given by a good friend.

The conservative opposition to conventional American foreign policy is anything but monolithic. One group of critics continues the Jeffersonian tradition of preserving American liberties at home by minimizing American involvement abroad. Figures like Sen. Rand Paul and his father, former Rep. Ron Paul, speak to this side of the populist coalition. Jeffersonians are skeptical of international institutions and alliances as well as American interventions to protect human rights abroad. They oppose big defense budgets and extensive military deployments and see no reason for an anti-Russia foreign policy. Many believe that Israel seeks to drag the U.S. into Middle East struggles that Washington would do better to avoid. Sen. Paul was quick to announce his support for President Trump’s Syria decision.

The other, Jacksonian wing of conservative populism shares the Jeffersonian suspicion of multilateralism and humanitarian interventions, but is more supportive of the American military and of maintaining America’s reputation for standing by allies. Jacksonians are hawkish about China, Russia and Iran and favor a strong relationship with Israel. This tendency in American politics is represented by figures like Sen. Tom Cotton, a U.S. Army veteran who served in both Afghanistan and Iraq and has criticized Mr. Trump’s Syria decision...

...Of the two wings of the GOP populist movement, the Jacksonians are the stronger and, from a political standpoint, the more essential. The GOP base is more hawkish than isolationist, and from jihadist terrorism to Russian and Chinese revisionism, today’s world is full of threats that alarm Jacksonian populists and lead them to support a strong military and a forward-leaning foreign policy.

Neoconservatives tried and failed to rally GOP foreign-policy hawks against Donald Trump. Should Jacksonians turn against him, they are likely to pose a much more formidable threat.
