Does he even realise that 3000 people died..or just not care?
I think the 60-something death number from early on has just stuck in his head and he thinks anything that has been reported is not accurate. I'm not sure he would even call it "fake news", but rather it's just something he can't intellectually accept because the 60 number is stuck in place.
Wll be interesting to see if this is a blip or a trend

There is one survey (can’t remember the name) that has been following the exact same people since before the election - would be curious to see if they have an uptick in party switching by disaffected voters.

But is it surprising? I'd venture to say most of the respondents in each group answered the question "Would you like Trump removed from office?" which is a different question. There were similar polls, split along affiliation, for Obama (not that extreme to be fair), and they were just as meaningless as far as impeachment. However unsurprising or meaningless it is, it's a bad result for the administration, period.
