To an English person when you learn history and you allow that certain things happened because they were half a millennium or more ago but then you learn about American history and it was somewhere between 50 and 200 years ago and it blows my mind. The idea is Obama saying things like he supported Trayvon Martin and not condemning black lives matter showed that he hated white people or something like that. The audacity for a President to think that black people haven't been treated well meant he divided the country to a lot of folks. It's sad really but white people look for reason's to say that they're discriminated against to I guess disprove the claims of minorities.
People think that racism ended the second the Civil Rights Act was signed. So unless someone uses the n-word a lot or wears a white robe they aren't racist. Of course that isn't how it works but when someone tries to explain it they can't get anywhere. To an English person when you learn history and you allow that certain things happened because they were half a millennium or more ago but then you learn about American history and it was somewhere between 50 and 200 years ago and it blows my mind.
I worked at a DIY store for 6 years and the horrible shiz I heard when "the blacks" weren't around was astounding. The recently new manager was black, I hated him because he ignored the rules over who owned what patch in the store but they didn't like him becuase the place had, and I quote, "gotten darker" since he took over. They always assumed because I was glow in the dark white that I was also racist.People think that racism ended the second the Civil Rights Act was signed. Yeah that's everywhere sadly and a lot of people think it's ok so long as they don't say it to anyone's face and they "have black friends"I worked at a DIY store for 6 years and the horrible shiz I heard when "the blacks" weren't around was astounding. who would he ghost write it for?Jeff Bezos actually DOES do that though, tbfExactly. Some people here on GOT still think that Trump isn't racist. Because racism, apparently to them, is defined solely by wearing a KKK hood and screaming the N-word in every sentence. And since Trump doesn't do that, he is obviously not racist.
By that internally consistent logic, because Jeff Bezos does not bathe in a gold tub filled with 100$ bills every morning, he's obviously not a capitalist.
Quite amazing figues given the healthy economy.
