It's amazing how much people will debase themselves to stay in the good graces of our President.
It is but in this particular case I think Sessions would do it under any president, he always has been very anti immigration.

But will be interesting to see what so called “free-market, can’t pick winners and losers” Republicans think of this idea

Quite revealing that even Trump advisors/supporters suspect Cohen and Trump are guilty of very dodgy business dealings.

Jay Goldberg, a longtime Trump lawyer, told The Wall Street Journal that he spoke with Trump on Friday about Cohen and warned the president against trusting Cohen if he is facing criminal charges. Goldberg said he warned the president that Cohen “isn’t even a 1” on a scale of 1 to 100, where 100 was remaining fully loyal to the president, the newspaper reported.

Meanwhile

Presumably as the criminal investigation makes it very unwise to participate in a discovery/deposition process. He also might need to save money for other legal bills...

Fair point re Sessions - but now that he has the AG role, he'll do absolutely anything to stay in it. No honorable resignations for him.

Often, I think most people don't mind picking winners as long as they like the winners. It's when someone they don't like is picked that they get testy.

Problems will arise when there are significant regulatory hurdles to growing nuclear in the US and when coal miners (UMW) decide it's a great time to renegotiate wages.

It will be fun to watch.

Repugnant as he is I’m actually quite glad that Sessions won’t resign as otherwise Trump would just pick a replacement that would smother the Mueller investigation.

But speaking of debasement...

Stupefying.

Not at all surprised that President Trump is in the Time 100. And, based on how he's changed since the election, I guess I am not surprised that Ted Cruz allowed his name to be associated with this.

Re Sessions, you may be right.

It seems a corollary to my current thought that I hope President Trump is not impeached or convicted of any crime during his term, because that would give Pence a shot at the office (appearing much more civil in terms of political discourse, but to me much scarier in terms of committed ideology) and a running start at the 2020 election.

During the campaign Cruz's wife was shamed for her looks and his father was accused of plotting the assassination of President Kennedy by the man Cruz just lauded in Time Magazine. No apology has ever been issued for those affronts.

It will be a massive shock if Cruz loses re-election but I have to wonder if recent polling (polling I do not believe) showing Beto O'Rourke within the margin of error with Cruz played into this decision to suck up to the POTUS?

Wait, what?
