Oh Lordy, there might be tapes

President Trump’s personal attorney Michael D. Cohen sometimes taped conversations with associates, according to three people familiar with his practice, and allies of the president are worried that the recordings were seized by federal investigators in a raid of Cohen’s office and residences this week.

Cohen, who served for a decade as a lawyer at the Trump Organization and is a close confidant of Trump, was known to store the conversations using digital files and then replay them for colleagues, according to people who have interacted with him.

“We heard he had some proclivity to make tapes,” said one Trump adviser, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation. “Now we are wondering, who did he tape? Did he store those someplace where they were actually seized? . . . Did they find his recordings?”
Too much to ask for. Isn’t it??

The criminal's vanity always makes them make one tiny but fatal mistake. Theirs was to have their entire conspiracy recorded and stored on audio tapes

The highlighted part says it all.

Innocent people should have nothing to worry about.

Anyway i doubt the majority of the tapes could be used by the system (special prosecutor or not) if they were clients of cohen on them. They can only take and attempt to use anything covered in their warrant.

That's really key here.

I think someone else mentioned that they would not ignore anything else illegal and although that might be accurate it would be difficult to prosecute. The defense would immediately wish to get them kicked based on an illegal search ie they were not covered.

Although any tidbit of information may lead to new investigations excluding the tapes as evidence and looking for anything else to corroborate them

So he must not have simply taped his clients meetings then. Either that or the majority of the conversations were shady to have people worried.

But its fun to see them squirm nonetheless.

Question is then when he said he had tapes of his conversation with Comey maybe he was telling the truth because Cohen would have insisted on recording it i guess?

Apparently though Steve you soon won’t have to worry about crime as you’ll have a beautiful wall for protection

Haha!! Can't wait.

Yeah its made people scratch their heads here not actually get excited about it like he claims. The local news have been covering it.
Such a waste considering there already is a 12 feet high fence stretching to Arizona from the coast off of San Diego.

Other than the contractors wanting to build it i'm sure most don't care for it.

San Diego and Southern California has been asking for infrastructure funding and funding for wildfires and earthquakes for how many years and he thinks our main concern is illegal Mexicans. This lovely wall will protect a baron wasteland if this coming fire season is worse than lasts haha!!

Even most conservative voters in San Diego are not pushed about this whole thing except those pushing his agenda.

Central and south Americans are pretty much ingrained in the San Diegan culture at this stage. Schools have gone from being 80% white to a nice healthy blend of nations.

I am most definitely not an attorney, so I have a question:

I have read that attorney/client privilege extends only when the conversation is just between the attorney and client - that the privilege is not available when a 3rd party is part of the conversation. Is this accurate? If so, what these allies should be worried about are multi-party conversations that Cohen may have taped.

Is this a reasonable concern for them or am I off base on this?

Thx

Yes i believe multi party conversations are fair game but i think there are stipulations like if they were married or had a contract or such. I admit i am not a lawyer myself so its from my own study and from reading articles etc...

But i think also like i said although there is a privilege if they were to hear a tape although they cannot use it they could technically get a lead from it. They just couldn't use the tape as evidence. As in they pretend they didn't hear it and got a tip off to look in that direction etc...

But yeah the meetings he recorded that Trump and his allies might have had privately were taped also apparently and such would fair game.

Trumpette wearing MAGA inspired shorts getting pummeled by a Mexican. It tastes so sweet.

Hilarious.

He needs to be the best fighter there is carrying on like that or his career will be short (excuse the pun) if he thinks he will fight many guys who are not from Central or South America.

Boxing in the US is mainly comprised of Central and South Americans.

I'm sure they will all want to queue up and kick his ass for being a fool.

EDIT: Looking at his record he has fought so many off them too so he is simply arrogant it seems

I see the orange faced fool has ordered a review of the post office.

He thinks they are undercharging Amazon and other companies and wants a review to see what can be done.

He does realise Amazon really doesn't need USPS as much as they use them they could get rid of them.

Whats mad is the post office has no issues with Amazon and thinks they have a great relationship.

Trump looking to mollify neocons or a slap at Comey, or both?

Scooter Libby pardoned.

“I don’t know Mr. Libby,” Trump said in a statement, adding, “but for years I have heard that he has been treated unfairly. Hopefully, this full pardon will help rectify a very sad portion of his life.”

I’d say it was a remarkable coincidence that Trump chooses to pardon at this time someone convicted of obstruction of justice, perjury and lying to a special investigator to protect a president...
