What about the muslims who are legally able to emigrate to the United States who now face a potential ban as proposed by the President of the United States?
Also, these 'illegal immigrants' who you seem determined to demonise are human beings looking for a better life for themselves and/or fleeing from extreme violence. You don't have any more right to life than they do.
Your country was build on Europeans coming over and slaughtering Native Americans and taking their land. Don't think they had any right to 'legally' be there.
Thanks for living up to the Texan stereotype. Who'd have thought it, a Texan being a Trump supporter?
No one should have a right to just decide to land in any random corner of the planet they choose. That goes for me. That goes for you. That goes for all those others you've mentioned. We have to abide by the laws and values of other countries. There's nothing I like less than British louts abroad refusing to even slightly integrate into their surrounding culture. Equally I feel those coming here should try and integrate even if only a little, into UK society. I'm sure Americans would feel similar.
For that reason vetting is sensible. Why allow people in who hate our values? There are very few examples like this but they still exist. So why ignore them?
As for your remarks on colonial times, context is obviously not your strong point. Much of the US was empty, deserted, barren. Is that the same now? Now was it wrong for those that did target the natives to do so? Absolutely. It was reprehensible. Equally people who might seek to do similar in a modern context would be equally wrong. Trump has massively overplayed the immigration card, but your take on immigration is downright fantasy. Not all immigration should be legal. And banning immigration should be illegal. Because the sensible, rational view, is to take your stance somewhere in the middle. And that involves control.
