Donald Trump for President Thread

No, am backing her because in general like her policies, Trump is just added motivation.

Fair enough in that case. Was just interested given I'm very much an outsider, albeit an interested one.

Obviously you'll have been following it all much closer than I have, but to me the whole campaign has been badly lacking in meaningful policy. Donaldo has been too busy getting the plans made up for his wall building exercise and Hilary has been too busy rolling out celebs and listening to Springsteen gigs.

Just my take from afar.

The article was from vox, but the polls were from UT, Reuters and others.

Polling data may be massaged, but I think it's disingenuous to argue that toxic racists and sexists do not gravitate towards Trump over Clinton. That, of course, is not to say Trump supporters are racist. It is to say that racists tend to be Trump supporters. As you would expect given his positions on immigration and religious freedom.

He's supported by the KKK FFS...there is no arguing otherwise.

exactly... I'm not calling you, personally, a racist for supporting Trump. But.... seriously... open your eyes.

And liberals are meant to be the ones in denial...

Just my opinion, but I think the discussion of policy was much more substantive during the primaries

Vox is hardly the only source I've posted here, to say nothing of dozens of others

"a bunch of twenty-three year old ivy-educated geeks" - you guys would be a lot more credible complaining about how liberals caricature people if you didn't routinely do exactly the same thing

We're allowed to stereotype. We're the racists, remember? Unlike you? Step up.

But I know what I'm talking about, here. When I was 23 with a fresh new Masters degree and a hotshot GPA, my head was so thoroughly impacted in my colon, it's a wonder I could answer the front door... Plus, I've never been more convinced of my invincibility.

I've got to go check on that brisket in the oven.

So, in other words, a website which ran an article featuring multiple polls based on literally thousands of interviews can be dismissed, because the people who run the website - not the polls it refers to, but merely the website - are young and have college degrees, and when I was young and had a college degree, I personally was wrong about things.

Alright then... problem solved. Racism doesn't exist.

Tribalism doesn't suit you.

Education does not make one your enemy, as you well know. Different belief in policy does not make one your enemy, as you well know. You can be reasonable and admit that there is a decent sized streak of racism running through the Trump campaign without apologizing for it, while still opposing Clinton based on your values.

I admit Clinton is a hawk, way too in bed with corporate interests, and quite probably an actual criminal. I vote for her anyway because I still agree with her social policies, I abhor the economic theory of unrestricted trade, and other people exist. And those other people could well suffer pretty badly if social conservatives take power again.

So if everything is going to be crap anyway, why not at least dampen the level of crap it will be for people?

Trumps demographic beautifully illustrated right here

Yeah see, I'm not saying all Trump voters are like this, or indeed racist/misogynist... but it truly is stupid to pretend quite a few of them aren't.

Loads will be in fact. The guy they're voting for calls Mexicans rapists, blacks inherently lazy and women fat pigs. If that's appealing to people, then... you know...

It's the same as the Brexit vote mate...they don't want to admit that the vote was won on racism.

What makes you think hillary voters are any better?
