I don't understand people's impatience with this lad, he clearly has talent and is visibly improving with every game he plays. Many seem to expect players to burst into the side fully formed, when most only show promise in their early years. We have to be patient and trust the professionals who manage this club, who clearly rate him, and allow him time to grow his game. He's only 20 for gods sake.
For what it's worth I reckon this lad will be leading our line in a few years time and all the naysayers will be eating large portions of humble pie. Patience.

What's most encouraging about him is his attitude and professionalism. I get the feeling he will reach his potential because of those qualities. I've no idea what that potential is having seen him play for like 180 minutes total and out of position for the majority of those, but everyone who works with him rate him for a reason.

He will get pushed off the ball, but he's not shy about falling over - which is fair enough when there's a foul. Free kicks and cards for defenders will balance some of his lack of strength. Just how much will be down to the interpretation of the officials, so who knows. When the slight-looking England youth international hits the ground with Ryan Shawcross standing over him and the crowd baying for blood...

Think he will prove a lot wrong this season. Hope he is up top today and Sandro and Rooney behind. Wins headers, good hold up but not consistent and wins fouls. Best we have right now in a target man.

Really don't get why he is so unpopular.

feel for him as by 4.00 we will have 3 or 4 new pages slagging him off for being useless. Not his fault if he is playing in a daft position. Hopefully he isn't but if he is at right wing back I fear the worst.
