2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

exactly, this lad has given nearly 8 years to this club only 3 less than coleman and yet our fans want him signed up on another contract because he does a few fist pumps and says he loves the club, who has hardly played the last 3 years and when has, he is the weakest link in the team.

its not DCL fault he has had awful service and played under some bad managers, yes he has his problems as all strikers do, but is clearly the best striker at the club at present, this lad will score in a footballing team

Its an absolute myth that DCL doesn't get service, he's has so many chances over the last few seasons. he has just missed them

You only have to watch the game on Saturday v Chelsea to see what he offers the team. Yes he doesn't score enough and misses big chances but the balls that were going into Beto on Saturday and coming straight back (including their goal), would have been held up by DCL and playing other players in. Get a couple of quick wingers next season that can run off him and whip a cross in and we will see his game raise. Injuries are unfortunate but as long as we dont go into the season with him as our first choice striker, he is an asset to have in the squad and a loss to lose on a free.

Odds are he'd spend more time on the treatment table than the pitch.

Signing an 80m pound Striker for free is a no brainer really.

Problem with DCLs and Betos of the world is that they can do it. In patches. Or turn in the odd blinder of a performance.

Injury, application, psychology, bit of inherent donkeyness... they're never consistent.

Every club has had them, historically. Now they're very very very expensive commodities just by being a striker who can pot occasionally.

Oh well, we just have to hang on in for one of their little spells. Just don't boo too hard when they're in club foot mode.

Calvert-Lewin is an elite Striker and I find it disrespectful that his name is even mentioned in the same sentence as Beto.

Why don't we keep DCL and Sign players like Richarlison Delap, the top clubs have a squad and options, like what Jones2 said above DCL plays against Chelsea then we don't concead that goal simple, he also drags us up the pitch and brings other players into play

His wage will be a problem. Someone younger fitter on less money is the way forward. But then there's Moyse.

We tried to keep him. Contract on the table. He doesn't want to sign it
