2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Let's be honest, if he stays. He deserves full support.
exactly, this lad has given nearly 8 years to this club only 3 less than coleman and yet our fans want him signed up on another contract because he does a few fist pumps and says he loves the club, who has hardly played the last 3 years and when has, he is the weakest link in the team.

its not DCL fault he has had awful service and played under some bad managers, yes he has his problems as all strikers do, but is clearly the best striker at the club at present, this lad will score in a footballing team

I wouldn't at all be averse to him staying on a moderate salary as a rotation/backup striker to a much stronger striker brought in this summer. Obviously there's no way he's earned a salary increase, so if that's what he's looking for he can take a hike.

We signed Coleman in 2009, that`s twice as long as DCL has been here, and injuries have taken their toll as he has got older, and probably not helped by that leg brake he got playing for Ireland. The biggest complaint against Coleman has been that he has continued to play internationals even as he was picking up injuries and meant he missed a lot of games for us. Some folks would be happy to have Coleman stay on because he has spent his whole career at PL level with us, while DCL rejected offers to prolong his stay here when offers were made last summer, which might suggest that he`s looking to play somewhere else.

If he stays then he needs to take a pay cut and it should only be on a shortish length contract, especially if his injury woes continue
Completely agree, considering his persistent injury issues we should really be offering a 1/2 year deal on half his current wage, doubt any footballer does that in this day and age though.

This is the biggest reason we should not offer him another deal. It will be interesting to see how many clubs show an interest in signing him if he leaves, and if he get a new PL club if he`d be a starter or someone to fill in now and again or have a 10 minute cameo at the end of a game.

What is his goals per season record over the last three years?

On that evidence I'd replace.

Do you remember that time our right back scored 6 premier league goals in a season from open play?

Striker Calvert Lewin has managed to beat that only twice in nine seasons
