2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

That's not what i got from it, it sounded very 'look what i have done for you'.

I've always liked Dom, but came across quite self-entitled in this one. A bit like if your in work and the person that is constantly telling you they are busy, arent actually busy, while others are just working away.

I suppose that's the nature of the podcast though
I didn't get that from it myself, but I do like the lad so may be a bit biased in interpretation

The podcast does direct it towards their personal feelings too tbf so we agree on that

This is why I’m just tired of him and want him gone. Aside from the obvious fact he’s not very good at football, this sort of stupid boring non-football related stuff just follows him around and diverts the discussion away from him as a footballer. There’s such a toxic negative energy around him and I can’t be arsed with it anymore. Just leave and take your baggage to your next club, we’re done with it.
I don’t see how anyone can not prefer Beto who scores goals, keeps his head down and when interviewed only ever talks about working hard, improving himself and thanking the fans for their support.

I'm not even saying she's calling him a lier. It's just his job to report what he hears if he believes it to be reliable. Let's be honest, there is like a 90% chance Dom is leaving. I'm more just thinking if you don't want drama in your life, don't open any avenues for it.

DCL has categorically been a very good signing for Everton, it's just a shame that jarg stuff like this makes the story anything other than "thanks and good luck, Dom".
Really?
I don't get how this affects anything really considering how many contradictions and disagreements are on this forum alone everyday.

The only thing that really matters imo is does he bring something to the team and are we better off keeping him or losing him for nothing?

I want Dom to stay but want Beto to be ahead of him in the pecking order starting next season because he's earned it.

I'm neither name calling nor making my own metric, it was a fairly simple joke based on your incorrect definition of a lie.
I saw, had already edited once before you quoted & again before you replied... good joke ;)

I did take the definition of 'lie' directly from a search engine dictionary (4th noun definition), so that's interesting that they've gotten the definition incorrect. They're spreading lies, clearly

A lie and a liar are also different.
A person who unknowingly tells a lie isn't a liar, a person who is wrong isn't a liar.

About his contract situation and potential moves she is far more informed than Paul Joyce, simply because it affects her life as much as his particularly as his job would involve moving house and possibly country so yea we probably won't find common ground on this.

Fact remains that being a liar and being wrong are different things so Joyce can be both wrong and not a liar. There is no common ground on this, there is just what the words mean
You know she deleted the comment about an hour later.

Can`t understand the effort being put into trying to keep a center forward who has a poor recent record in front of goal and a terrible record the last few years with injury, who if he wanted to extend his stay here he could have signed a new deal last summer and avoided being a free agent trying to find a PL club to sign for this summer.
Dyche
Post Dyche

The effort? Probably because he offers something to the team even if not guaranteed starter and we wouldn't have to buy a replacement.
He's also a known quantity in a summer rebuild that could get some signings that don't work out

I'm coming from a place that he's defo off, mate. He's had a long time to sign, but the same concerns are still there, injury prone, still not a convincing finisher.

What would it cost in wages to keep him? Is he worth 100k a week for example?
If we re-sign him, is anyone realistically going to sign him for a fee next summer?
Should we linger on not getting a fee for him when he only cost us 1.5 mil?
Despite the fact he is clearly a better footballer than Beto, is Beto just a more effective striker?
Is it in a way, rewarding failure, by offering him a new deal? Is that fair to Beto who has shown himself to at least be a decent forward in this league?

For me, I would rather wish him good luck, and sign someone to give Beto some competition next season.

He's been at the club for the best part of a decade, he has been more than great value for money. At times, he looked like a real player, other times not so much. He has been very unfortunate with injuries, but I personally don't want a sick note. I honestly feel you could get just as effective a striker as DCL for less than 20 mil.
