2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Agree but we’re not in the position to have a second striker on the bench worth 20-30 mil. I like Beto and I am glad he’s been given a proper chance, and if he stays I hope he continues to play because he gives 100%. But ultimately, I think we can probably do better
I agree with your initial post in so much I’d rather have DCL (if fit) over Beto, so selling Beto to fund an upgrade makes sense, but we absolutely should expect to have £30m worth of support striker, especially if we have any aspirations of putting the Moshiri period behind us and kicking on.

I really hope he leaves. Negative energy just seems to follow him around and he divides the fanbase in such an extreme way that we really don’t need going forward. I want this summer to be a hard reset, there is a good positive mood around the club at the moment. We don’t need the toxic baggage that he brings with him. Nothing against him personally, he is just too divisive. He also needs a fresh start in his own career just as much as we need one.

I’d keep him on realistic (i.e. low wages).

But we just need to have players everyone can get behind. It’s not workable anymore, rightly or wrongly. He could score a brace and still get red faced screaming abuse from one person for his celebration, and that would be the headline.

I've always appreciated his all-round hold up play. But he must have one of the worst stats for missed 1 on 1 chances of any striker out there. And that's just not good enough.

I think it's time we move on from DCL, he's not gonna stay on for less money at this stage in his career, and not sure I'd want him to sign a new contract otherwise. We should have sold him last year though and got decent chunk for him
