2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

I'm not defending it, nobody is. Its out of order.

Where has anyone said it's fair game? You're making up things in your head to be angry at.

Let's not pretend that it wasn't started off with a backhand dig at the fans though, it was and it deserves a mention.

I don't think she started off the abuse of her and her child mate. That's total nonsense. The idiots sending that abuse started it.

Unfortunately egged on by a small number of fans who have ran a hate campaign, based on halve truths about Calvert Lewin. A very sorry affair really, for a lad who has been a fantastic signing for us given what we have paid and scored some crucial goals for us.

Let's also be honest here and state that this isn't the first time his camp has had a pop at the support for whatever reason. His dad had a few comments when he got in the England squad.

Isn't every football player going to get criticism online? I don't know why it would be any different for Dom.

I don't recall too many other players having their family members posting digs online tbh.

You seem to be very blaze about people recieving abuse. Quite clearly that's not acceptable.

I don't know if people do receive misogynistic abuse online about their kids. I'm frankly more worried about your attitude that this is some way normal, than anything a concerned partner/mum may say.

At some point you're going to have to let your irrational vendetta drop.

The people who sent those messages to his missus are the lowest form of life, pure kopite behaviour and they deserve nothing less than banning for life from attending our matches and a knock on the door from plod.

That being said, he needs to leave. The relationship between him and the fanbase will only get worse as he’s simply not good enough or fit enough to score the goals at the regularity needed to get fans like myself back onside.

The difference between him and Beto against Southampton was so stark - even though Beto didn’t get his goal he bullied admittedly very poor players whereas Calvert-Lewin barely barely laid a glove on them. I genuinely wouldn’t keep him on half the salary he’s currently on.
Agreed. Will leave with thanks for the Goodison derby last season and the lesson he gave to their centre halves

I mean they're giving her husband pelters over his job performance, which tbh was well earned on the results of it.

If they get defensive over it and engage these beauts with more posts it does kind of bring the unwanted attention with it.

There's no defending it but when you put yourself out there this is what can happen.

I mean he's not been injured, so why would anyone be making criticism of his performance? He literally wasn't playing.

What do you mean by "this is what can happen", you get threats from people threatening to run over yon and your baby?

Can you give me a list of things you think a mother isn't allowed to say that justify/cause that response? As frankly I'm unaware of anything that I would think motivates that response.

Even if Calvert Lewin had been a bad signing, rather than a lad bought for a million who's been a third highest goalscorer in PL history, it still wouldn't justify messages of that nature, would it?

I really can’t see what good was going to come out of posting this on the morning after the last men’s game at Goodison.

I think Calvert Lewin knows that in terms of his career, it makes sense to stay at Everton. He’s not getting a better offer elsewhere. But it’s clear that his wife wants him to move on, probably to somewhere on the continent. The reaction of some is disgusting, but in my view the original story was posted with the aim of deepening the wedge between him and the fanbase.

I have to say I'm a bit lost here.

She and he are clearly proud of the goals he's scored at Everton. Good for them, they have every right to be proud. If I scored 30 goals at Goodison, I would be proud.

I'm frankly a bit astounded that people who are offended at that. It seems some just have a bizarre and irrational hatred of Dom and it really does cloud the judgement.

I think you need to stop posting in this thread now please.

Do you think her post can be read as a dig against the support?

"They might not shout it - but we're proud every single day"

Definitely has an implication that they don't feel he's supported, rightly or wrongly.

I can see why some might take the hump at that but sending messages isn't on.

Surely 30 goals at Goodison doesn’t get him close to the top 3. I think Les Ferdinand is close to that.
