2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

He will end up in the championship and / or if he is lucky with one of the newly promoted teams.

I think he'll get a move to London or maybe go abroad. Celtic might have a look for leftfield move.

It's similar to Iwobi. I never rated him a huge amount here and thought he was an awkward fit in a Dyche setup but he's done well for Fulham, been a regular in top half side all season.

Silva rates DCL and Fulham need more upfront so him going there on a free is an obvious move.

Way I see it.

Why would he sign a new deal to be backup here when he's pretty much been first choice last five years when fit. That makes little sense given the stage of his career.

He's at best 7-8 goals now even if he stays fit. Beto has provided that this season with many sub cameos so to me he fits better the squad striker role on a lower salary than DCL will be demanding.

I also think generally he just needs a fresh start in his career. It's like Rashford with Man. United. Too much negativity and he gets more stick when results turn than other long serving members of the squad.

He's at least being respectful in interviews but I think that's more to get a decent send off v Southampton rather than he seriously wants to stay.
I don't think he wants to stay, i think he has had offers from the likes Southampton Leicester maybe a Fulham but that's it.

He will go to where the most money is offered and i guess right now its here.

He wont play for a bigger club than us and he wont get a bigger contract than what he is currently on, he's tried his hand and i guess his agent has come back and said 'we only have these clubs interested but nowhere near the salary you want'

You know what we noticed at game today soon as he comes on we just pump the ball up not his fault. Maybe it's just the mindset of other players to do it and a easy option for them

I said the same at the game today. It's strange how he seems to love the "leaping like a salmon" act to win a header on the halfway line more than the tactics he followed under Ancelotti where he stayed in or around the box, which is when he had his best season.

I think it's fellow players also if in a bit of doubt oh he's up there pump it up...we did similar when Duncan played

He mentioned that season the tactics changed later on when we lost players to injury and he didn’t get as many chances.

That was most of the game. The few times it was played to Beto’s feet, it bounced off him.

Do you think he will get more money at his next club than what he is currently on

I think he will have a to take a massive wage cut at his next club even though he will be joining for free

I can’t wait for the days when we don’t have to argue and defend whatever a player like Beto or Calvert-Lewin is better. Our two top strikers have barely any goals when compared to the top 6 clubs. We’re arguing in the muck while the rest at the top laugh at us and improve. My opinion? On a team wanting to play in Europe, neither player should be any more than a sub.
You wouldn’t exactly see either waiting at the side of the pitch to come on and think “they’ll grab us a goal” would you?

Jota being sidelined for Celtic might make a move up there an option. Celtic get a CF for free, with PL experience, playing against lesser opposition, all DCL needs to do is stay fit till Christmas until Jota gets fit, which might be too big an ask.

Depends if you class Richarlison as a striker but he's surely above DCL? Had more edge to his game, fantastic workrate, rarely injured (and played through the pain barrier at end of 21/22) and hit double figures most years he was here. Also played CF for Spurs and Brazil in the World Cup since leaving.
Rarely injured?

Richi barely missed a game in 20/21, featured in 30 prem games in 21/22...what am I missing?

Loads of injuries since at Spurs which is maybe why it's not a great idea to dream of his return especially with him coming up to 30. Had the best of him already.
It was his time at Spurs I was referring to. Seems to have had a lot of hamstring issues. They tend to inhibit movement as players age. On the balance of probabilities he's likely to swap places on the treatment table with DCL.
