Top two seasons there, there’s a mitigating factor why he had so few goals, because he was in and out due to injuries
This season he’s got a few but has genuinely been off form since scoring at West Ham

He's bang average and, at Everton, sadly, we are used to elevating bang average because so many who play for us are sub-par. The fuss over this fella's fitness is a joke. He's not been doing it for a very long time and needs to be rested. If he can improve after some rest, great. But right now Dyche is making a rod for his own back by, essentially, putting us on the pitch without a striker, because DCL is little threat to anyone in his current form.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin didn't get anything in the way of service today, but I think the offside one-on-one that he messed up, after being played through by Onana(?), showed a lack of confidence rather than a lack of quality. Sometimes you need to not overthink things, just pick a spot and then put your foot through it.

Injured for the 21 games he didn't play in each, obviously fit enough to be on the pitch for the 17 games he did play in each. Five years from now people will still be making the same excuses for this lad, whilst completely ignoring how he misses chance after chance after chance. And if by 'off form' you mean 1/3 of the season, then yes, I agree.

Like I’ve said a few times, a lot of the flack he gets from some goes back to him being pushed into first team matters before he was ready to be focalised 7 years ago, the off field stuff and injuries just heightened it more in the last 3 seasons

To be fair about his perceived lack of service, he's had blue chip chances carved out for him in the last few games.
Also it's not exactly the teams main and only plan to give him service in games like today.
He is expected to hold the ball from deep clearances to set other forwards up with flick ons and through balls after getting it under control. He's badly lacking in that department too at present, fellaini was a master at it, the ball stuck to him.......it doesn't with Lewin. At the end of the day strikers are remembered for goals and little else.

So the consensus in here is that Dom had a bad game and surprise surprise, we got beat. We'd be lost without our true blue hero.
