There have been a couple of posts on Everton pages on Facebook this morning that he may have Crohns, could well be the usual made up crap but it would make sense with the dialogue used by the club to explain his absence

Quite possibly, but that would have changed the bargaining dynamic and not put us under pressure when Levy came in with a low-ball bid for Brazil’s No 9 the day our accounts were due. I seem to recall the lad was distraught at leaving and had tears in his eyes.
I also imagine he’d be back in a heartbeat given what’s since happened.
