Played 18 times last season and got 5 goals.

He's not the answer even if he is on the pitch.

We have to see a goal scorer bought in January.

….I’m more of a view that DCL is a proper option if he’s robust, fit and well. We can get hung up on goalscoring stats, but that has to be addressed throughout the team.

I like DCL lots, I had him as a valued asset ahead of his injury but I think I might have been the first to suggest we consider selling him when that big muscle injury occurred. I said similar with James McCarthy when his stock was still high and he started with hamstring problems. I know from personal experience that once they start they can impact a career (a primary reason we should’ve stayed clear of Delph).

So, DCL being robust improves this team considerably but I suspect he’s fragile & if he is able to put a run of games together and his stock rises it could be very wise to cash-in.

That season was injury hit though so a bit harsh that, didn’t he get like 16 goals the season before that ?

Also he runs defences ragged even if his not on the s it’s sheet he is occupying defenders like a proper centre forward should

He had one very good season. He's been here for about 6 seasons.

I dont think he's anything like what we need.
