Lukaku was boss, he was a young phenom who matured into the mans game early he is a natural goalscorer and I enjoyed him being here. DCL isn't a natural goalscorer and is maturing on a more natural curve, he's doing very well,no point comparing them as totally different players.

I wouldn't say that calling lukaku a "goalscorer who scored the vast majority of goals in salvos against lower level teams, whilst failing to replicate anything near that against top level teams".... is tearing him to shreds.

I also wouldn't say calling lukaku a "technically flawed, supreme athlete, who struggles to make the most of his frame against far smaller players" inaccurate...... nor would I say that calling lukaku "nothing more than a finisher, who struggles to assist the team in anything other than goals, whilst having a questionable attitude" inaccurate.

Lukaku is one of the best players in your lifetime???? Has he ever appeared in the player of the year shortlists? He e on one POTY award for Everton..... that's it.

Lukaku scored goals against ALL of the big teams, he scored in derbies he scored goals at the Etihad, he scored twice against Chelsea in the FA cup quarters, he scored when we battered city at home, he scored both legs in the Europa against a good kiev team.

Lukaku is a good player, but not a great player.
At Everton , the team was built around him and he scored goals but also missed lots of chances and some important ones.

At Utd, the team was not built around him and whereas he did alright, but not better than that.

In Italy he certainly is doing well and I have not been interested enough to look and see how the team is set up around him.

In summary, I would not want him back, not because he isn't a good player but is a player that needs a team built to set up chances for him limiting the opportunities for others and that is a limiting factor for the team.
The top teams generally have a number of players contributing goals rather than one scorer in chief.

He scored 15 goals in near 60 matches vs top 6 for us.

For man United vs top 6..... 1 goal
