I think it was a choice between the player under contract and one looking for the exit.FFS. And we stick with Beto who had a decent 4 weeks in his 2.5 years here.
It’s not revisionism (which evertonians do better than anyone BTW) when the debate is whether he was worth giving an extra few grand rather leaving us with the rubbish we currently have. It was right that we should’ve kept him then and it’s right now.

Beto should’ve been sold, DCL kept, that’s an absolute fact. Mainly because if they’re both not scoring, at least one ca do the football basics. Look at the mess we’re in now given the talent in the row behind our current striker.
If we’d of paid him and cashed in on Beto we’d be in a better position on and off the pitch. You’re not telling me he was desperate to join a Leeds. He's made it clear in subsequent interviews that he wanted a change...so, bye.
You seem to remember wrong@Thomasc you were one I seem to remember

He was desperate to join a champions league club and turned some down for Leeds according to the man himselfIf we’d of paid him and cashed in on Beto we’d be in a better position on and off the pitch. You’re not telling me he was desperate to join a Leeds.
