Does fit-again Leighton Baines deserve to start for Everton at Swansea?

Love Bainsey but Oviedo baby deserves his start. It will spur Baines on to top form when he does get his turn again. The best players thrive on competition.

Can't expect to walk back in. Oviedo has played very well in his absence. In time though he will command his place back in the 11. He's too good not to. How about Oviedo further up the pitch? Very good going forward

I want Baines back asap. We are a better side with him in the long-run, considerably. Oviedo's done well, but he's very unfortunate to have quite possibly the very best player in his position up against him.

If Baines is 100% ready and can do 90 mins, he goes back in for me.

Sorry lad but your basing your better side with him on what? Not results thats for sure . Oviedo ticks all the boxes for me and quite frankly I think has given 100% since coming in, so just drop him? Until Baines signs leave him out .

How about...
Howard

Coleman Jags Distin Baines

Pienaar Barry McCarthy Oviedo

Ross

Romelu

Oviedo was only decent when playing left-wing, but he's been excellent when playing leftback. I'd switch, have Baines playing the left-wing attacking role, and keep Bryan at LB.

Mirallas as supersub?

He's about 45 times the player Oviedo is. He is better at literally everything. If he's fit, you don't leave that calibre of player sitting on the bench.

If Oviedo is a good professional, which he clearly is, he will accept that, although he's done well for a few games, Baines has been doing it week in week out year on year, game on game and is our first choice.

It would be like Barca leaving Messi on the bench because Alexis Sanchez had a few good games while he was out.

its a bit like liverpool saying oh we are 1st without suarez after his suspension and deciding to just leave him on the bench as the team are playing well without him.

you just wouldnt do it

baines in, oviedo lad take a seat.

I think it would be worth a look at playing Bryan in m/f, in front of Baines. This could open up more options as the fixtures get congested.

45 times........not 50 or 51 or 51.25. Mate I can´t swear on here but do me a favour ........Why hasn´t he shown it then ?It´s great being 45 times better then some one but is he 45 times more committed? Oviedo has not put a foot wrong scored the winning goal aganst United, assist against Arsenal .Drop him just like that. Baines isn´t fit anyway but if he was I would still bench him.
