ToffeeDan

in memoriam - 1961-2023
Just get that "we're gonna score from this move" feeling?

Cos lately, the past 6 months or so, we have been so efficient and effective that you can almost feel the ball is going in the back of the net - the way we're stroking it around... I find myself saying 'goal' before the final pass - and I'm spot on 80% of the time. The football we're playing is as good as any I've seen us play in 25 years.. (y)

Like the first goal at Citteh.. It was coming!

COYB!!

some of the last 25 years has been a very vague description of football though TD, I agree though we are about to tear some new ones.
THE TIME IS NOW !!

Lately,

Felli nods a corner to Billy, left foot. bang! 2-0

Pienaar back flicks to Billy again and a LEFT footed player uses his RIGHT foot from the edge of the box, top corner

Rodwell, side foot from 20 yars, top corner

Becks, cross comes in low, he volleys it home

Tim scoring a hatrick!!! OMG

Coleman winning a pen!

I was coming home earlier and think about our squad. I cant remember being so excited at the start of a season before. I'm sure people on the train were wondering why i was smiling for no apparent reason.

I am all for pre-season optimism but it will take some going for this squad to play better football than the galacticos of the 1990s such as Earl barrett, Tony Thomas and John Spencer.....

Obviously only joking and yes ToffeeDan great point. I used to think that about Man United sometimes when they were in their pomp i.e. you could see the goal coming before the other team knew what had happened. It's great that we are starting to produce this brand of football to.

I came accross this little ditty earlier off the bbc website and anyone who grumbles about the current state of play at Everton etc should take a quick glance at this and remember how rough we had it lol:

Ok, now start to say "GOAL" in all of our attacks.. just keep that percentage up! (y)

It is a credit to Moyes that he has kept such good players together and incrimentally added more quality. It means the players all know each other well and can rely on each other, and when they do 'click' and the ball starts to work and 1 to 11 look like a machine (poetry in motion) it is often breath taking.

This goal was the one when I knew we were on the brink of a new age.
