I think the manager will be given a chance to improve our position after Christmas but I also think his possible replacement will have been identified and spoken to before then
Don't think our board are that proactive, they have never shown it.

What they will likely do is keep lampard as the fan pressure isn't high enough, wait until we're in the bottom 3 at the end of January and sack lampard, take 6 weeks to hire another manager and hope for the best.

I don’t see the point of hanging onto Lampard for the club to potentially sack him after 2-3 bad results after the break.

If we’re going to do it, it has to be now when there’s a mini pre-season for a new manager to have plenty of time to get his ideas across.

Fwiw, if we beat Wolves on boxing day then things immediately look rosier, such is how tight it is below like 8th.
Understandably people are getting ahead of themselves because of last season's horror show.

But, as you say, one win and youlre out of it for a wek or so. Look at Villa and Leicester with back to back wins.

We need the transfer market to make that happen for us.

That is most definitely not going to happen.

In any case, if we were in a relegation fight this season again I'd want a manager who can face up to it and get us through it...

....erm...I wonder where we can get one of those?

Does Lampard face up to anything?

If we get relegated he can simply just blame everyone else.

LOL you mean moyes who’s spent zzzzzzz and has attackers galore?

get a grip
Nonsense. The most immediate problem we need to address is stop conceding 20+ shots per game. Any manager who comes in must address that or he/we won’t survive. If we can’t score 3 goals per game we need to stop conceding first.

No. I'm in the 'give him time' camp.

I'm aware things haven't been great by and large, but we're still very much in the middle of a rebuild and he + Thelwell have only had one window were, as much as people will try and say otherwise, they did improve the squad overall. Lampard isn't daft - it's quite clear where the shortcomings are and he'll be as desperate as us to address those, so I say just let him try. For me it's gotten to a point where firing another manager midway through the season may well just finish us off this time..

What I must say though is that it's clear that there's a decent glut of the squad whom are clearly Championship level and simply don't have the right attitude. For me that's been the number one problem for years and several managerial changes hasn't helped that at all..

We just about crawled over the line last season and I attribute it to the fans and Pickford as much as Lampard.

Let’s not paint Lampard as some sort of relegation specialist, we were very very lucky to stay up last season.
