Whenever i hear they’ve conceded a goal,I will automatically like a fool put it on,as soon as I’ve switched over the “goal” is either being looked at by VAR or has already been ruled out,or as I switch it over they equalise/go in front………………I never, ever learn???

Same here when they are playing us, if not no interest and certainty not them, don't understand why anyone would either.
I watch a fair amount of their games, support for the other side.
But no more then I watch Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, spurs.
You watch more of these because of the coverage they get.
Man City v r/s is prob the only other game I would try to watch apart from the derby.

a disturbing amount of blues hate-watch them, then hate-talk about them.

We're unhealthily obsessed. Even our own theme-song sees fit to waste two lines on 'em.

What the heck do we care?

Quite a bit of heck as it turns out.

To be honest I'm watching less and less football in general unless it's Everton these days

I don't love the sport anywhere as much as I used to
The worker mistreatment & deaths for the Qatar World Cup really killed a lot of my passion for the game...i can't in good conscience watch any of that tournament.

Then add on how crap Everton have been since selling out to Mosh money...the annual change of manager...consistently losing our best players or turning promising players to also-rans...that outrageously pathetic derby record.

Further: observing how money turns championship races all over Europe into predictable fare (even more than in previous decades).

Passion for the game is kinda gone, to be honest. Never thought i'd see the day.

Happy for those who are still into it: that fire in the belly from feverishly following the footie is something special.

Yes but only certain games, if you missed that Palace game or the Demba Ba game, you really did miss out.
What I don't do though is have the TV on until it starts.
I’d never watch any of the preamble when they’re involved, but I no longer bother watching pre-match guff when we’re playing either. I just want it all over and done with…?

Pretty much this ?Have to admit I enjoy watching them in the pub if it's on.
Usually stand at the bar claiming every redsh*te tackle is a foul and generally winding up the shirt wearers who have never actually attended a game.
I do the same to my children, i.e. everything they do is a foul, probably a red card offense, and it's because they are evil.

I started them young so I think they genuinely believe they twirl their mustachioes prior to taking the pitch along with their VAR henchmen.

It's the zest of life. I can't pay too much attention to them, because it would be the opposite of what an earlier poster called therapeutic but for the same reason.
