Do you believe in the evil eye?

In many European countries such as Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Greece etc, the whole belief of the "evil eye" seems to be very common and popular, especially with the older generations.

Do you believe in the evil eye or have come across anybody that believes in it?

My mum believed in 'the evil eye' and even had some sort of hand gesture to help deter it. Mind you, her family was from the Baltics, and they're all bonkers in that part of the world. Personally, I do not believe in such things and feel we are all personally instrumental in our own downfall. But what do you believe? You didn't say.

Look at me being serious in a post. So just to even things up...

You lack any form of self awareness.

I would love to enter your head for 5minutes, what an utter shambles it must be up there.

Do it. Do it. Do it.

There is no such thing as the externally-supernatural, but our minds can create fantastic realities others cannot see nor comprehend.

But if one would write a book on this fantasy, or hold speeches on it, one may be able to influence the perceived reality of others...thereby creating a shared supernatural belief system.

Externally-innocuous events like some random woman from the 16th-century giving some incel an unkind look can be turned into an alternative reality where she's a witch who must be burnt alive.

Evil is often not in the places we initially think it may be. Neither is the 'Evil Eye'.
This is a very articulate post.

You might have got Baltics mixed up with the Balkans. Baltics aren't really known for being "bonkers".

How does your culture feel about Jaguars?

According to the Aztecs, we are not living in the first world. There were four worlds that came before us, each one destroyed by the great elements of the world: one by rain, one by water, one by fire, and one by jaguar attacks.

My question to you is, do we take the suggested Jaguar apocalypse seriously enough? Have we been blinded by woke environmentalists into ignoring the Big Cat end of the world? Should Jair Bolsonaro be congratulated for burning as much rainforest as possible?

Remember, these aren't my views, I am just interested in what other posters think.
Finally, a sensible post.
