Do you agree with Roberto r.e. transfer window?

Should the transfer window end before the season begins?

It won't change anytime soon.
Too many powerful people getting what they need on the back of it. Clicks, papers sold, airtime filled, etc.
In some utopian, perfect world that we don't live in? Absolutely close it before the football starts.
It's a friggin mutant sideshow that now dwarfs the main event. A hack-fueled feeding frenzy in which we're all complicit, because what your squad looks like is such an important factor in what sort of season you're in for.
If they could these scribes would suck all the drama off the pitch and dump it in boardrooms and offices. It's a world they understand.

I think there's some kind rule that the window is to be open 3 months every year. As of now that's January, July and August. But I don't see why they can't make it june-july instead. They could still have their deadline day sky coverage, just have it on July 31 or August 1.
Then it would close about a week before the season. I would prefer that.

I like the Sky based circus of deadline day, however, for the nausea and uncertainty it causes for it to be during the season, I would quite happily have the same on the night before the season starts !

Everton only have themselves to blame in this instance though, Roberto rightly bemoans the window but we are still looking at players before it closes, why not, as he said he would, get ALL the business done early. Not rocket science !

I think it should close before the season begins, but only the day, or so before,as knowing us if it closed a month before,we would have way to many injuries, before we begin, but with Leagues beginning different dates, one date for all it would have to be.

No he didn't.

Yep absolutely ridiculous. Squads should be decided before a ball is kicked and the F.A. should be cracking down on the touting and tapping up of players in the media, by former and current players.

of course the answer is yes. we want this league to be as competitive as possible. the majority of the teams are going to be overpsent by the likes of city, chelsea, united and liverpool. we don't want a league where we start level and then they can go and shift it again.

a couple of games in and these teams have the financial power to recognise their weaknesses and correct them. we've seen them all try and splash a mass amount of cash on one player. you start the season placing your bets on who will win the league etc. and a couple of games in you could look at a team like chelsea adding something like stones, pedro and a flashy striker ... as an example.

they should have an emergency window open all the time for loaning player(s) due to mass injuries. But if they've not done the right amount of strengthening by the season's commencement then they have to wait until january.

martinez is spot on, i think other managers, especially the top ones, are a tad scared that without the safety blanket their position would be more jeopardised so don't speak out about it.

There is an emergency window already but it is rarely used, mainly as it's hard to prove to the prem why you need it, equally hard to get someone to loan you a player when they themselves can't buy so it's only a reserve usually. The rule is primarily used with goalkeepers. We've actually used it once or twice, think sander Westerveld came in for a few games. But any relaxation of this would lead to stupid season all year when Chelsea etc start doing emergency loans for Neymar or something ridiculous.

I don't actually mind January window at present as it's less of a circus, primarily teams selling or buying players who've been out of favour. Plus the major deals 'bale' etc can't be done at this time as it's too complicated so the media is less frenzied!

yeah i knew that, was just pointing out how it can be used, for emergencys only because that's bad luck rather than bad transfer business. january window is fine for me.
