It doesn't matter how many we have injured, the way i see it is all our players are prem players this means they should be able to pass the ball and run into space. when your team mate has the ball run into space, if two or three players do this then hey presto you have an outlet. :D

Harry's reply just reminded me of something.
Kendall, Royle, and Harvey were on Sky sports talking about the team of 1970 and the simple football systems they would play, without the coaches telling them what to do!

I have a lot of old videos of the mid 80's team and they were always playing in one-touch triangles, either to get out of tight spaces or to develop play up field.

Football comes natural to talented players. It doesn't neecessarily need coaching.

I have seen some good football this season, and (as Harry points out above) playing a pass to and move into space for the return is a basic.
So does that mean some players are not Premiership standard afterall? Eeek!

Football is simple.

It's about winning, no doubt about it.

I think we've earned our spurs with a solid defensive record. We don't have enough quality players to go out and play the beautifull game.

This team is growing year after year. Good football will come along the way.

But for now, our game is not about winning in style...we are ought to win with commitment, team spirit and hard work. And of course we must have some quality within the squad or we wouldn't be anywhere near the top.

u would hav to agree with the orginal comment somewhat...at times we have been sore on the eye and aty other times we have been pleasing on the eye.......i would like us to play a lot more passively but i think if we did we would lose our " mentality" of togetherness....

i personally think we dont possess the squad to play like that ( though every yr we r improvin) what annoys me is the way we giv away the ball when under no pressure ....often when sum1 has time on the ball enough options are not created so it automatically goes long as it goes back to its better to lose the ball in front of their goal rather than ours

We've got about 11/12 players who are capable of fitting into an attractive side, but a few injuries and we have to patch it up and chop and change. If you want a good passing side you need understanding between players, which only comes with regularly playing together. During the last two seasons we've had an awful lot of injuries so we've not been able to get that rhythm going, but when we've had spells with a set starting 11 we've seen some great football.

I think the injuries we've had has forced us to change our system too much to have constant free flowing football, which is why it's great we've got the back to basics Dogs Of War style to fall back on in hard times.

Everton could have saved themselves a good few grand by ditching that kit and replacing it by going to the local building site in the dead of night and lifting every rag arsed builders high vis jacket for free . That Kit is a disgrace
