If it is true then the £25m was about what I expected us to have. That's enough to make a difference, I think. At the least it should get us M'bia and Moutinho (maybe a couple of million short but that could be sorted on the repayments) Now if we could get those and SWP on loan with a couple of other loan deals then I'd be pretty pleased.

well it like i said above, if moyes gets 4 loans/cheapos in ,then its game on for a big signing or 2 .
if we can get quality like swp and vigic for nothing its a huge bonus.

ive just heard man city have bid 10 million for swp.
liverpool have had a bid accepted for riera( less than our bid by 2 million ???)
zigic is deciding between us and villa today.

I hope thats right but I'm sick of holding my breath. Only a few days to do anything now. Make us happy Everton.

I can see us matching City on SWP to be honest. A loan would be my preference but I believe that the cash buyer will get the man on this one. Plus, he'd be a good signing and at this time that would be a welcome bit of news.

swp is a toughy.

i think chelsea will accept either a loan with an option to buy or a straight cash sale.
they dont need the cash asap.

so then i think its down to swp.
with city he knows what he is getting and there is the promise of a so called push to challenge the top 4 with shinawtra's (spelling) millions.

or he could come to everton , who are pushing the top 4 , in europe , have a better quality team , fans and manager than man city.

imo he would be mad to go back to city.

there is also the phantom menace that is arry redknapp waiting in the wings to make a bid also.(id be surprised if he has the money left though)

But would he take the pay cut to come to us? Pretty sure Citeh would throw more at him than we would per week, not wanting to ruin the pay structure and all.

Not sure this Shittywaiter has any money to spend. Havent his assets been frozen cos of his fiddling ? wots the asking price for SWP anyway.

he has money , but 800 million of his fortune has been seized.
his wife is in prison and he will be too if he goes back home.

im confident that by the end of the season the fa will say he has to sell his shares as his ownership is against fa rules.

just another note about swp. he is currently on 90 k a week apparently !!
another stumbling block.
but then again players do have to face up to the fact that wages are starting to come down.

He's clearly surplus to requirements at Chelsea. So it would make sense to clear him out now rather than loan him and risk getting him back on salary next year when, as well, his value may have dropped. Plus, with a loan you can bet the club doing the loaning won't offer to pay all his Chelsea salary. I know Chelsea don't need money but I also don't think the club necessarily wants to waste it either.

True but Chelsea players are gonna have to take a pay cut if they go anywhere else in the Prem except for a few other clubs. If he wants 1st team football he'll get it here. Be a great buy I recon if we can pull it off.

I think there's valid arguments on both sides here tbh. He would have to take a pay cut to join us, but the prospect of regular first team football which may help him regain his place in the England squad could outweigh that. It's not like he'd struggle to survive on 40k a week or whatever we'd pay him if he joined...

well thinking about it , jacobsen coming could mean neville pushing into dm , or it could just mean hibbert is out for ages.
and swp coming could push arteta in cm (once pienaar and cahill are back in september)

would this lineup work ?

..............howard
...neville yobo jags lescott
.phillips arteta osman pienaar
................cahill
.................yak
