Player Valuation: £35m
With all the varied claims that we have sufficient money for transfers, argued by many that we dont have as much as fans believe, what really is the truth? If we have £25 million to spend, why do we appear to need to sell before we buy??

Any thoughts guys.

Yes.

Ian Ross said we will pay a maximum of £20 million for Moutinho. This was jsut aafter Moyes said we need 5 or 6 players in. Therefore meaning we have £20 million for one player, therefore more money for the other 4 or 5 players.

So why do we hear reports that the money we would recieve for AJ will allow us to up the offer for Mouthinho. Surely if we had enough money, we would have improved the offer, it stands to reason or am i missing the point here?? :confused3:

People will never be happy regardless of what we spend but I expect by Aug 31st these players may have been brought in Moutinho, (2 from Topal, Mbia, Bradley) Manny on loan and Ebanks Blake. With Aj leaving, I think this is realistic and I would be delighted with it.

If we've got the money, why havent we signed him already? He wants to come, we want him and yet it seems dead in the water. If we have the money there is no reason why we wouldn't be further down the line signing him, and with Moyes' recent comments about players not being ready in time and him wanting to bring players in earlier leads me to believe the moutinho transfer is dependant on the aj transfer, it makes no sense to wait this long if we have the money availbale.

We gots da money.

But knowing how David Moyes works in the transfer market, we're not gonna blow it just to get players in.

If Sporting's asking 20M for Moutinho and Davey won't pay more than 16M, he'll move on.

That's how he works.

Spot on mate. I unfortunately believe we are being spun yet another massive yarn. If there's money then where are the new faces? Very rarely do you have a player with Moutinho's class expressing his desire to join Everton, so why do we need money for AJ to fund the deal. Kenwright has been putting all our hard earned money into his pantomimes i am affraid lads. Lets wake up and smell those coffee beans.

Move on to who though, and when? I hate to be pessimistic, i am usually the optimist but this is taking the piss now. Whoever he has in mind the club have dily dalied to much and whoever comes in will not be settled/ready for the first few games. Meaning we will more than likely have to play Gosling/Rodwell and from recent results and the amount of goals we have conceded against [Poor language removed] teams, it is obvious they are no where near good enough.

I am one of the most optimistic of Evertonians, but i am also a reallist. Not for one minute do i blame Moysey but it smacks you straight in the face when you try to work out the mathematics... No money for players = He has still yet to sign a new deal.

Good question and I fully trust Moyes if it comes to the "moving on" part.

He hasn't let us down in the transfer market yet*

*Except for Kroldrup, Beattie, and VDM.

The press are adding 2+2, obviously selling johnson will create £10 million more, which would buy a new player, or go towards another player. The press are hardly going to say they are selling johnson, and keeping the money for themselves.

if the Moutinho transfer is dependant on the johnson transfer like you think, how are we going to get the other 4 players? We have the money, we know because we have already bid for players, moutinho, M'Bia, that goalie guy, etc...

Moutinho has publically admitted that he may have to remain at Sporting Lisbon. What/Who are these other 4 players coming to Everton??

We have the money, we know because we have already bid for players, moutinho, M'Bia, that goalie guy, etc...

Like we had the money for Alan Smith, Sean Davis etc etc etc etc etc....... Have you ever heard of the word publicity stunt, a tactic used to get bums on seats, season tickets sold etc.

The press are adding 2+2

As for the press adding 2+2, at least their sums add up. We are not coming up with any solutions at the moment.

Things ive been hearing the past few days leads to beleive we dont have as much as i anticipated, but franakly that could be wrong! Any clearer? Good!

Sums it up really no one has a clue, except me on the 1/9/08! Taps nose!

we are up the creek without the paddle.for the last couple of season we have been buying above our means as Kenwright relied on his mates to go guarantor now that they have declined he is struggling to get any reasonable kitty together.what happened to cash from the faddy sale?and the TV and Sky cash also the prize money for coming fourth I know some of it had to go towards paying off the interest on loans apparently we have quite a few.
