Distin to Sunderland

Thought I remember seeing it somewhere think Nev was lumped into the article!

Yup it would be green for go with me as well, hard to think of another left sided centre back who could replace him, there is a young kid at reading I've been impressed with! He's not the next Charlie or anything but still!

If he did, I missed it, they left it late last time, think it will be the same this time around.

Based on current form, hes well worth another year tho.

"I'd say the same for Sylvain Distin, who is in the same position
"With all due respect, when you get to their age, they understand most things are on one-year deals or rolling contracts.
"Both of them have been excellent and I'd have no qualms recommending to the board that we give them another year's contract.
"Phil and Sylvain are both in the same boat. I've not really sat and had a word with the chairman yet, we'll probably do that after the new year and see if we are ready to give them a new contract."

Cant find the quote but he did. He said he would have problem offering Distan and Neville another year

Next summer Heitinga will be entering the final year of his contract, so it's a make or break season for him. If he goes I would expect Duffy to be phased in and for Distin to act as cover.

Sunderland have Brown (33), O'Shea (31), Bramble (31) and Cuellar (31) so it's hard to imagine them wanting another thirty-something centreback.

Unless it was for silly money (and moyes had a good idea what to do with the money) there is no way we get rid of Distin.

Today against West Ham, he was second to Osman for my man of the match, and was much better than Johnny. I know Heit's hasn't gotten a good run in, but Distin was EXCELLENT today and despite his age, he shows no sign of slowing.
