Bang on my sentiments exactly and for those saying he is playing because we have nobody else to play in the centre of midfield that is bad management by moyes he should have signed someone in the summer.
I like distin but we need to blood the likes of duffy he looks good from what i have seen.

He tried lad, Belgians lad. Failed lad.

Was always going to happen , We will be doing the same again this time next year aswell , if moyes is not prepared to show no any faith in players such as the duffys and barkleys of this world , remember moyes did it with pistone years ago give himself no other options but to keep wheeling out extension after extensions and even bringing him back after he went.

I can feel my eyes getting very wet. If, in some alternate reality, Nev was way down the pecking order then there wouldn't be a problem as I don't doubt his positive influence around the club. However, he's a nailed on starter.

I reckon he should just pack up and go to the middle east or Australia for a year or two. He'd get bums on seats and would be a good signing for most teams.

DAVID MOYES wants to extend the Everton FC career of Phil Neville by another 12 months.

Thats barkley and duffy put firmly in there places as to were there roles lie at the club for another couple or however many years extensions these old players end up getting , cant have players on 50k a week being pushed out for younger players now can we davey :dodgy:

Exactly, its Moyes fault we are left in a situation where one injury means Neville starts regularly in midfield aged 35 of a side aiming for champions league. Of course its also Moyes fault that the other 10 players are good enough to have us in fourth, but what kind of set up is it where you don't replace the weak link as soon as possible so you have 11 good players not just 10?
Yeah yeah were fourth but with a proper mobile midfielder of the quality in the teams around us wed be even higher, and that's the aim of football right?

I can't think of a single Champions League team from the French, Italian, German, English, or Spanish leagues who would play Phil f***ing Neville out of choice. If we want to compete at that level he needs to be one of the first players sent out to pasture.

Quite. For all the naysayers, given our financial situation, who would be there instead? Hopefully Hitzleberger will come good and will take his place sooner rather than later, but realistically, over the last few months who else could we have had there?

Distin has looked better than Heitinga this season, and I can't help but feel that people are looking at Duffy through rose tinted glasses because he's home grown. I'd be surprised if he ever became a first team regular for us.

Not sure I agree with that, he looks like he's maturing into a good defender and he did well at such a young age when loaned out, however could be just Peter Clarke number 2 and the division down is his level. He has the right attributes though I think another loan would be very beneficial for him.

Fine with Distin. You need 4cb, but duffy ought to be getting moved into a more central figure for this club.

But giving Phil ****ing Neville an extension is beyond lunacy. "we're 4th with him starting". We're 4th in spite of that liability.
