Perfectly sums up my sentiment. Galloway may be a centre half, yet that doesn't automatically mean he is a 'Premier League' centre half yet.

Browning looked comfortable in the right back role in the Derby I admitt, and he may play as a CB for the U21s, but is he ready for the PL?

It is a difficult decision to make as either it could make a player, or set them back if they're not ready for the standard or demands.

...RM had all of his coaches at the recent U21 game v Norwich. I get the impression they feel one or two might be ready for the step up if needs be and needs be might be soon.

How old is Hallam Hope, mate, I saw that he has been recalled from being on loan ?

You may be correct, and I'm not particularly against the idea of Galloway, or more likely Browning, stepping up if it is required.

My point was that in my opinion a percentage of fans are far too quick to merely argue that 'we need a centre half so play a kid who is a CB.

If Martinez believes they are ready for that role then I trust him, and I genuinely hope they do well. Look at Stones!

However, if they're not yet ready for the standards of the league then it is more sensible to pick an experienced player out of position.

Only Martinez and his coaches really know the answer and I am sure we'll find out soon.

Providing he can sort himself out he should provide CB cover until stones returns. I wouldn't risk either of the young CB's right now let them continue to develop and not throw them in the deep end

...I agree that the Manager and his staff will know who's close. The physicality of CB role in the Prem is a key factor, coming up against the likes of Bony yesterday. To this extent I suspect Browning is more ready, although I think Galloway might be a class act.

I think Galloway is going to be a very good player but not for a couple of seasons, although I hope I'm wrong and
he might be another Stones, then again he is only 18.

What is actually going on with Distin? Roberto's post match comments were very strange...

Personal fallout stemming from the bad start to the season. Distin couldn't take the criticism and had a go back.

Only going to be one winner when you take on the manager at a well run football club and isn't going to be the player.

What did he say?

Something along the lines of distin not being the type of player he would have on the bench

I would have thought that having played against Lille and put in a decent performance that they were passed all that now. Will be interesting to see who starts against Lille this week...

Distin will, and should start, the next few games. He was, in my opinion, harshly singled out by all and sundry when Jagielka was equally off his game. Sylvain has served us well over the years - he'll do so again.
