Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

I posted on here back in January about a disciplinary hearing i had. I've had 8 months suspension from work due to management trying to get rid of me. Basically because I was the Union Rep and held them to account.
The Union (NEU) have been brilliant and forced the local authority to appoint an independent investigator. This has prolonged the process but today I had my final hearing and have been exonerated with no case to answer.
We will now be pursuing the school for compensation. It's a huge weight off my shoulders.
If anyone is going through anything similar, trust the Unions and never give up.

Absolutely made up for you mate, massive weight off your back.

What’s happening to the horrors that pursued the agenda against you ?

Cheers mate.
We'll be pursuing them for compensation. After that the report goes to the local authority and it's up to them. Probably nothing unfortunately.

May be worth looking at your own solicitor, who specialises in employment law and associated areas of law ?

They shouldn’t be allowed to get away with what they’ve done.

I agree. The Union have legal people and we are going to look at all options in the next couple of weeks. It's proving the whole thing was a stitch up that's the problem.
They used the fig leaf of a parental complaint but it was nonsense. The sort of thing you sort out with a phonecall.

Well done mate, sorry you had to go through all of that but it came good in the end.
There's far too much of this sort of thing going on, trumped up cases going nowhere and tens of thousands of taxpayers money going to waste.
I supplied a character statement for a former colleague who was found no case to answer only last week.
He is a tough guy but months of it dragging on almost broke him all because he challenged authority.
I hope you are recompensed for your stress and torment.

Cheers. The waste of money is unbelievable. Supply teachers for 8 months plus. As well as all the legal crap.
It's all the support I've had from students, colleagues, parents and friends/family that have kept me going.
I've worked there 22 years as well.

So pleased for you. I hope you receive rightful compensation for being put through such an ordeal.

Made up for you mate. The stress put on you and your family must have been horrendous. Like you say the Union have top solicitors on their retainer. That will do you. No point in spending your own money on others

Always heartwarming to see the good guy winning and the corrupt systems taking a kicking.
Made up for you mate.
Hope you rinse them for every penny's worth of anguish and stress they've caused you and your nearest and dearest.

Bollocks to the lot of them!

Thanks. Education is so badly run these days it's horrendous. First time in a long time I've felt normal. Being suspended for so long makes you doubt yourself.

Bounce in there with your head in the clouds and enjoy the warm reception off those who matter most and stood by you throughout, your pupils.
The kids always know whats right and aren't wary of authority the way adults are.
They never forget either and those who wronged you will get their's back in bucketloads off them.

Nice one mate. Great to hear that you have come through this intact.;)
I went through something similar back in 2005 with the NHS.
I went (eventually successfully) to an industrial tribunal, but It was probably the most stressful time of my life. Ultimately though it was well worth the stress.
The Unions keep us strong. 💪💪
