We can't expect everything straight away lads. This guy looks really quality and would improve us.

Maybe in a few seasons we will be able to close bigger deals, but for now this would be excellent!

In that respect mate, are matt richie and jordan ibe good enough for us at that price?
What's that got to do with anything? The point is that price tags aren't necessarily an indicator of ability.

If we sign Koulibaly for £40m there'll be people on here drooling over it and saying it's the best signing ever, but the same people would have moaned if we'd paid £5m to Genk for him 2 years ago because they'd never heard of him. A couple of posts above we've got someone saying this is a bad signing because it's the type of player Southampton would sign. We should apparently be aiming higher than this, at the sort of player Liverpool and Spurs would sign. Liverpool and Spurs' main signings so far this window having been from... Southampton.

If you've seen a lot of this lad and don't rate him then fair enough, but there are a lot of people here who are basing their opinion of him on the fact that they don't have an opinion of him. It's laughable.

I've never even heard of him so i personally wouldn't be judging him until i seen him play lol

the problem in general will be whoever criticizes players like this are also demanding we sign top level talent despite being a mid tbale club with nothing to offer bar money.

Excellent sensible post.

preach it brother

How much we talking for this
Anyone saying that this being our signing after weeks of Mata, Witself etc. isn't underwhelming is lying to themselves.

No idea what he's like, never heard of him, but regardless it isn't the statement signing we badly need. Indeed, it's a business as usual signing.

Yeah I know, not every signing has to be eye catching, but... I understand why people wouldn't exactly be thrilled by the prospect of this one.

Well said tubey. All correct.

**Mr Niasse kinda proves this point

It's the sort of signing Sunderland or Southampton would make. Can you imagine Spurs or Liverpool desperate to sign him? That's what level we are looking to compete with.
I bet they wish they had been desperate to sign Coleman

shearer.webp

Could be worse, his goals record could be worse than Shearer's at Southampton
