i think people need to swerve this new found attitude that we can only sign players who are world class already, that doesn't happen, we will sign top class players yes, but Rolan is a young lad who has a lot of potential is not a bad thing at all, yet people are crying over it like little kids.

swerve acting like geordie and man city meff fans and if the lad signs support him and get behind it instead of crying.

Poor lad hasnt even signed and he's getting critiqued....madness.
Hope he's not on twatter

I think he adapted very well to the league and played way more than intended in his first season.

Under the right guidance he is going to be an excellent defender for us. Vickery admitted last season that he got it completely wrong.

I know he did - I pulled him on it and he said the same.....still interesting to get someone who follows South American players closer than any of us.

Haven't seen one bad report on this lad.

I wouldn't.....and in my opinion, yeah he is a liability.

He's not as good as people on here make him out to be, but he's by no means a liability.

He's a very solid defender who provides a threat at set pieces as well. He needs to stop diving in as much and his positioning needs work, but that's down to coaching as well - something RM couldn't help with in the defensive department.

He made a lot more mistakes than either Stones or Jags last year mate but overall he did well. Had some great moments. Interesting to see how he improves under Koeman.
absolutely didn't make more mistakes than stones for me mate.

think he's got the potential to be a very good defender under koeman, but struggled with martinez style, like all defensive players did.

taking into account he had just come from argentina i think he had a solid season.

some of his positional play and bringing the ball from the back was at times awful lad, and his attempted marking. However, it didn't often result in a goal, I will say that - as it was recovered by a teammate.

I've got no issues at all with Funes though. He had a sound first season and he's a boss lad.

can't agree with you there lid, made the same amount of mistakes as any defender does in the season, but he did make one or two bad ones, but seen stones and jags do that plenty of times last season too, so strikes me to believe it was more to do with RM than anything

new season new start so we'll see!

hopefully if we're if for rolan it can be boxed off quickly
