Stop being a snide Tubey lid. It was an act of immediate compassion that, with football being so devoid of sportsmanship these days, should be appreciated on its own terms. Maybe your opinion on Di Canio (I love him, think hes great) has coloured your view of the incident, but either way the ball was landing on his chest and although he had two defenders round him, I think with his quality he easily could've scored that
You're assuming something about me that I didn't say or even hint at. I like Di Canio, think he's like Balotelli, entertaining for the game, good player, not arsed in the slightest about his politics. And like I said it was a decent act, but there's no way he could have easily scored that.
The ball was behind him and swinging away, Steve Watson coming out across the path of the ball, a marker behind him and two covering on the line, with no pace generated on the cross. He would have had to connect with a ridiculous goal of the century overhead kick that would have went in regardless of the 'keeper being there to score it.
Not only that, he was actually waving for play to stop before the cross came in - and nobody mentions that Watson stops playing as Di Canio is screaming for the game to stop when the ball is in the air.
I'd suggest that your like for Di Canio is preventing you from watching the actual incident properly.
