Good to know the hotel is alright, thanks guys.
I'm not bothered about it being miles away from anywhere, I'm only looking for a place to lay the head down the night before as I will be visiting family earlier int he day.
Will probably head into the city in the morning, might have a little drive around and see if I can find a decent spot to park for the game and if not, I'll just leave it in the hotel. Will sus out those places you recommend thanks.

Marmor, no chance of hanging around :) I'm playing golf first thing Monday in St. Andrews so won't be missing that opportunity

Cheeky I know but you could technically park in someone’s driveway it’s not illegal I think

And if they tow your car and damage it you can claim criminal damage

Bingo
ha ha imagine the fume mate but please people don't try that around Walton / Kirkdale .It won't be a happy ending

If I were you, I’d get off before half time mate. Traffic around County Road especially by the KFC and the ATM sees the Sat Nav offer a detour. Pointless hanging round L4 Sunday afternoon. when you have a more pressing appointment elsewhere.

You should be able to use street parking near Kirkdale train station

There's a section of road near the station where you can't park, but once you're past that there's plenty of side streets

It's free and about a 15-20 minute walk to the ground. Very reasonable
Fiver to park in the elm tree pub... Ideal place to walk from.

Drive straight to Scotland, park up, grab a lift of a Scottish Blue or get a cheap train ticket. That way your car is safe, you can get leathered before the game and get your head down on the way back.

Or just avoid the pain and get straight up to the Outer Hebrides.

I park down Bedford Road off Southport Road. Usually quite a few places to park and it's about a 20 minute walk.

Stevie, that offer to park on my drive is still open if you want to. I'm right by the Elm Tree pub mentioned earlier by BigBlueNose and you can park as early as you like if you want to soak up some of the pre-match atmosphere at St Luke's etc. Let me know your mobile via e-mail and I'll give you a call with the address and directions. Alternatively you can put your mobile number on this site if your happy with that.

Fair play Martin, I never checked here when I got to Liverpool and only just back in Ireland now.
As it happens I spoke with girl in reception at hotel and she gave me the heads up on a car park. Some place called Bingo 3000 I think. It was perfect and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a handy car park. I think I got there about 1:30-2pm so well ahead of kick off. There was a great buzz around. Met Ian Rush before game, and some mad fecker in his speedos!!! Got my dinner in the Wok place across the road where there was an absolute hunny working the till, If I was hanging around for the night I would have asked her out :)
Thought the match was a high tempered affair, a good game, draw was a fair result. Only my second time in Goodison, hopefully not my last.

Incidentally, that hotel was perfect, shower was crap, but apart from that very suitable for my needs. Wouldn't want to be staying there though if you were planning a weekend in the city on the razz. I was back in my car at 6:10 and out of town quickly for a brutal drive through the blizzards of Freya in Scotland. Golf was great, played poorly, drank bucket loads :)
