Dempsey anyone?

Unable to post links till I hit 20 posts, but the Fulham manager today said this about Dempsey via ESPN:

"To say he refused to play is probably a bit harsh, but he wanted to move and if you want to move, you don't want to take risks so you don't want to play in case you get an injury," Jol said Saturday. "So for me that was a very awkward situation and it was for him as well."

Kind of an important statement to accurately relay there, Mr Jol.

Those who know Dempsey aren't buying that he's refusing to play (including his former coach at New England). I'm not sure what's going on, but here's a little perspective.

As they say here, there are always two sides to the story. If we can get him for 6mil, I'd take him in a second.

I'd love to have him play behind Jelavic.

But... the way this story is unfolding makes me not want him at the club. Everton prides itself on people being proud to wear the shirt, so if he can't be proud of Fulham why would it not be the same at Everton? He sounds a little bit selfish considering he has been there for 5 years and they pay his wage.

Be honest, I appreciate the loan potential though, if he isn't getting everton time, I'd rather get got SOME time, if he went to tranmere, I'd get a season ticket for them for this season!

After last season i don't think you can really call him over-rated. He scored 23 goals and had loads of assists. His age counts against him but whoever he signs for will have a very effective player. I hope he doesn't go to Liverpool.

Assuming I'm a "they" I'm not spinning anything, just reporting something their manager said. Maybe Dempsey is being an awful professional and refusing to play, it's just sounding like maybe the whole truth in this isn't out there yet.

'They' are the kopites, mate. Not any one on here. Dempsey could punch Jol in the face and **** his dog and if he signs for liverpool they'll find some way to justify it.
