That's true. I like some aspect of his game but his decision making is poor. There are times our LB is supporting him with an overlap but he tends to try to beat the opposition but failed. And only passes when he has no other options.Been our best winger this season.
Just criminally inconsistent is what he is. He's more than capable of whipping in a great cross but fails to do so 80% of the time.Bang average, his corner taking is woeful, rarely clears the opponents first man.
Or did he deliver 100 that had us down there in the first place?Delivered the cross that kept us up, therefore can’t bring myself to say anything negative about him
80% is pretty consistent Tbf, unfortunately it’s consistently poor!Just criminally inconsistent is what he is. He's more than capable of whipping in a great cross but fails to do so 80% of the time.
This is his saving grace and why he’s still in the team. That one moment of quality like the set piece that kept us up or the strike against Arsenal which he’s capable of and I’ve never seen Gordon produce and McNeil only twice but once but against us and the third against Palace the other week.To be fair to Gray, no matter how poorly he plays he will put one dangerous ball in every game that we should score from. We never do like but he does have good low crosses in his locker. I’d tell him to keep his game simple, buy half a yard and just keep firing them across the 6 yard box.
Yes, he’s capable of something special, he has talent, might be today against Leicester, might be next week, who knows. Problem is, Aaron Lennon, Bolasie, Walcott, Deloufeou to name a recent few all showed us what they were capable of in any given isolated game but weren’t good enough.Hoping Gray can find his best form soon. I’m cautiously optimistic. We’ve seen glimpses of what he’s capable of, he just needs unlocking.
The Athletic article was an encouraging read, and I have respect for the decision he made to move to Germany, even if it didn’t work out. He clearly wants to be a success.
Hopefully Lampard can do for him what he did for Iwobi.
This and if he could run towards the ball when our mids play a short pass to his feet. 2 small changes but would make such a big difference.Really needs to stop sulking when he loses the ball and just get back , be twice the player with just that change alone.
Given Gordon’s 3 goals from 22 shots I suspect there would have been a fair bit of windmilling before he landed one on Yerald.
