Now that we aren’t playing parked bus counterattacking footy, he and Gordon need support from the fullbacks to create space. It’s inevitable if you try to play on the front foot. That and having a reliable striker to play off of (which we haven’t had this season). Our wingers are kind of left for dead

He has deeply suffered with our endless chopping and changing every game due to injuries and suspensions. He makes things happen.

We have two very quick wingers, when fit, in Gordon and Gray and yet we never have them sat on top of defences pinning them back. Always baffles me.

It's basically because we've got nobody who can give them the ball. Our inability to control a game in the middle of the pitch means that everyone's roles get messed up a bit because we end up just scrapping for whatever we can get. Also Gray in particular seems to want the ball to feet so that he can run with it, rather than looking to make runs onto the ball, and so often seems to choose to hang back hoping to get the ball in space and then run at his man.

If nothing else we can sell him and get almost 100% of the fee written off our FFP. If we stay up he would be one of the players we could offload for a decent profit .

Agree he was our shining light earlier in the season, not fully fit imo needs a arsenal moment
