This really. Although I do some decorating from time to time, it's pretty monotonous stuff. Plus if you're knackered from work, it's the last thing you want to do when you get home.
A grand sounds a lot, but when you consider how much paint, wall paper, brushes, rollers and all the other bits you need are, it's not too bad...and you only see the finished results...well worth it.
 
My first flat many moons ago has left me traumatised. Spent a week doing the living room alone and the first visitor pointed out that the wallpaper was upside down, never tried it since.

I'm actually quite a dab hand at the ol' painting and decorating. Only last year I fully redecorated downstairs of our home over four or five days.

That was the living room, sitting room, dining room and the kitchen and lots of positive comments. Problem is that I'm painfully slow at it.

So more often than not I end up paying someone to do it if needs be. I'd rather give someone a few hundred quid than waste a few days.
