If he does got to Besiktas on that deal, then it's not the worst that could happen, but half of me still thinks he's worth keeping for pre-season at least and see from there.

Ten games in total last season?

He was good in a 4-3-3 for Ajax. Let's see how he could get on in a 4-3-3 here...

He's clearly willing to fight for his place.

He's a good player.

This deal is the equivalent to getting a loan deal from a talking dog at the back of a hatchback. Shady all round.

How is this a good deal for us? That doesn't come close to covering his wages and there's no way they are exercising that fee. I have no doubt he needs to go somewhere and play to get his value back, but we can't do better than 1.5M?

So we buy a player for 24m, play him for 5 mins, then loan him out for 2 years for 3m?

Mental deal if true.

Give the lad a chance ffs

...they’ve said they have to move players on and I presume this totally gets his wages off the books for 2 years and brings in a small income. We were always going to have to take a major financial hit on Klaassen. I’m afraid this is a consequence of Walsh/Koeman.

Move him out, move on.

Deal makes total sense to me, I mean I would personally keep him and give a try, but hes a risk, if we can get him off the books and actually out "making money" for us, then sure, do it.

I mean not a chance in hell those pesky Turks will pay 17m for him in 2 years, but we could probably still punt him for 10-15m at a push, maybe, added to his loan fees, works out at like a 6m hit, give or take a few pennies.
Two year loan though is odd isn’t it?

Who sorted that? Pathetic move that, keep him or sell for a good fee, loan is pointless

Loan is the only realistic scenario

To sell him, we would need to recoup at least £19m otherwise we make an accounting loss and end up negatively affecting what we are allowed to spend

Loan was always the most likely outcome

Trade him for a player in the Dutch league, if not a Noel Edmonds swap shop deal, we might even get a millennium falcon.
