Copied and pasted this from the other Davy Klaassen thread

Luca Modric in 2012/13 was voted the worst La Liga buy after struggling in his first season.
David de Gea, almost crucified by the press when he first came here.
Thierry Henry, didn’t score for his first 8 games at Arsenal and struggled until Wenger changed his position.
Gareth Bale, unbelievably was on the losing side (24 times, yes 24 times) when he played for Spurs after he joined at 17.
Victor Moses at Chelsea, title winner.
Robert Pires, another who struggled and was laughed at by some in his first season.

Drogba had a poor first season.....

If he couldn't break into our crap team and the judgement of two separate teams of coaches rated him not good enough to pick for first team duty, what more evidence does anyone want? I know, pay him his massive wages for another year and decide to bin him the season after next, We can enjoy extending this thread on here for another year with some claiming there is a player in there somewhere, and others saying he is not good enough. Cut our losses and get shut.

Funnily enough, it could be that our two crap managers were wrong! Not like they were too willing to try anything at all over the season.

But you know, he's crap, so bin him now. Regardless of the fact we have a contract to pay him and spent a shed load of cash on him, that if he's that crap, we won't get anything back.

and then theres the 1000's of players who looked utter chobb and turned out they were, I reckon Davy is more like them that robert pires yanno

Yeah I mean I get the point trying to be made, but he's not going to morph into the new Paul Scholes anytime soon is he.

He might turn out to be half-decent which, for his price tag, still wouldn't be good enough to justify his signing. And yes, the price matters - it's money that could have been spent elsewhere.

My view is have him around the squad for another year and sell him in January/next summer if we can recoup £15m. I don't think we can get that fee this summer unfortunately, so it's not worth selling.

Going to give all the signings from over the last season a second chance. Can't help but think season past is just one big nightmare.
Clean slate from me .
Have a good feeling over this lad and in my opinion needs a second season and hopefully the club gets behind him .

Massive waste of money, we're paying this guy £120,000 a week to warm the bench. He's failed under 3 managers (admittedly 3 rubbish managers, but nonetheless, its a consensus). He's looked out of his depth every time he's played. Please just get rid.

Wish I had your patience, I'd so much rather pay the £120k a week to someone who shows some promise.

On the judgement of Koeman and Allardyce.
Enough said.

I dont care if some hipsters shoot me down.

But there is absolutely no way a footballer gets to captain Ajax, and play for Holland, (even if its not exactly a vintage crop of players), without having actual footballing skills.

It hasnt worked out so far, but that is not to do with his ability. Between the ears? PL too quick/strong? Dunno.

But there is a player in there.

I see no reason why he can’t perform in a team that looks to pass and move and generally play football. Osman wasn’t the quickest and was very lightweight but played centrally he was a fantastic player.
